NORTHERN  MINDANAO  UNVEILED  FURTHER  IN  3rd  TRAVELXCHANGE  2008

ILIGAN CITY
, JANUARY 29, 2008  (STAR) Iligan City’s famous 32-foot Ma. Cristina waterfalls is not the sole destination of Northern Mindanao (Region X). To find out more, join the region as they exhibit their natural treasures and tourist spots in the 3rd TravelXchange 2008 in the Robinson’s Place, Bacolod City this February 1-3, 2008.

The Philippines is not just Luzon; it is not just the Visayas. There is a place down south called Northern Mindanao where people are warm and friendly, and destinations and activities are never-ending,” said DOT Regional Director Catalino “Butch” Chan III.

Perhaps he was referring to the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park, an aquaculture production and eco-tourism park with delicious seafood, a restaurant on stilts and a Dolphin Island nearby.

Or it could be the white water rafting and river tubing at the Cagayan de Oro River, and Philippine eagle and bird watching in Malaybalay City. And in Camiguin, there is the Lanzones Festival every third week of October, and the Pilgrimage Tour around the island during Lenten Season.

What’s more, the Del Monte Plantation and Menzi farm (Malaybalay City), the biggest pineapple plantation in Asia with an 18-hole golf course can be located in this region.

“Come, explore and experience this land of adventures, historical accounts, diverse cultures, and tranquil habitat of various flora and fauna,” Chan added. “Give us your time and we will promise you a slice of paradise.”

The DOT Region X office is set to invite potential visitors with other airlines, hotels, tourism bureaus and travel agencies converging for this three-day travel fair.

Other 3rd TravelXchange 2008 participants are: Malaysian Tourism Board and A’Famosa Resort Malaysia, Greater Subic Bay Tourism Bureau, Bohol Divers Resort & Convention Center, Microtel Inns and Suites, DOT Region X, Grand Regal Hotels, Plantation Bay Resort & Spa in Mactan, White Rock Beach Resort in Zambales, Mountain Woods Resort in Subic, Amadeus, Baron Travel, The Travel Club, Sunbee Travel & Tours and Mallberry Suites of Cagayan de Oro, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Casino Hotel Bacolod and Cebu Parklane International Hotel.
