CEBU NEW TV CHANNEL 28 TO FEATURE THE BEST OF THE ISLANDS
MANILA, April 27, 2004 (STAR) CEST CEBUBy HONEY JARQUE LOOP - The grand celebration to officially launch the latest television channel in Cebu was almost as thrilling and exciting as the actual inauguration of the station itself with an impressive, hard-to-beat roster of guests.
Jay Aldeguer the competent, ingenious, multi-awarded gentleman whose commercial interests range from garments to souvenirs, publication to cuisine and Lyndon Angan, the genial VP for marketing of Destinations Media Cebu, cordially welcomed the doers and achievers from the world of business, industry and commerce, education, as well as arts and culture as they trooped to the Ayala Cebu Arcade.
Unveiling the gigantic booth that featured the best of the islands were guests of honor Karl Hudson, GM of Marriott Hotel; Rene Almendras, Cebu Holdings president; Carlos Co, Cebu Chamber of Commerce president; Txabi Aboitiz, Aboitiz Group VP; Patrick Gregorio, founding chair of the Cebu Visitors and Convention Bureau; Ronnie Pasio, Skycable GM; Rolando Nuρez, Cebu Pacific VP for commercial planning and support; and Karla Bautista, former Miss Cebu 2003 and Binibining Pilipinas World 2004.
Cebu Channel 28 on 24-hour telecast, which starts this June, will have six structured programs.
On the Edge produced by husband and wife team Noy and Amale Jopson, who are both sport enthusiasts is a hip travel show that will feature journeys to various adventure places in Cebu and its neighboring islands.
The Best of Cebu, produced by Patti Busano, will showcase establishments and businesses, complete with their products and services that are distinctly Cebuano such as the best hotels and resorts, trendy restaurants and traditional delicacies.
In The Mix, produced by the Escape Event Solutions Company, will highlight special affairs in arts and culture, exhibits and launchings as well as sporting events.
Around The World and Discover Cebu both presented by Destinations Media Inc. of which Jay Aldeguer is president will focus on lifestyles, leisure, fashion and cuisine and noteworthy travel destinations here and abroad.
Cebu On The Spot will sum up the best of Cebu. The program will focus on the different colorful festivals such as Kadaugan sa Mactan, the Sinulog, the Holy Week procession of Bantayan Island, Santacruzan, the Flores de Mayo and other tourism-related fiestas that will surely capture the interest of the locals as well as tourists.
Cebu Channel 28 will begin airing in June.
