MANILA, March 3, 2006
(BULLETIN) A GAME in Hong Kong and eight provincial sorties are lined up in the Gran Matador-PBA Philippine Cup.

The league kicks off its road forays with the Hong Kong showdown between Talk N Text and Purefoods on March 19 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium before ushering the first in a series of out-of-town matches with a game in Urdaneta, Pangasinan on March 25.

Talk N Text team owner Manny V. Pangilinan is making the Hong Kong sojourn possible through his PLDT Global and will be played for free for the thousand of Filipino overseas workers currently staying in the former British colony.

It is the second official overseas game for the league since Talk N Text beat Shell, 97-88, in a classification round game held in Jakarta, Indonesia last year during the Fiesta Conference.

"The PBA is very excited to go to Hong Kong to play and entertain the thousand of our kababayans out there, who get the rare opportunity to see and mingle with their favorite players in the flesh," said Commissioner Noli Eala.

He added the league is constantly in touch with the Qatar Basketball Association for the possible holding of a game in the Middle East country sometime in May, although nothing is certain about it yet.

"We are discussing this possibility with them but nothing has been finalized. Right now, the only thing that is finalized is the Hong Kong game between Purefoods and Talk `N Text," Eala said.

The league commissioner also said that conference and loyalty tickets and privilege membership cards for the season ending tournament are now available at the PBA booking office.
