SAP  TO  TAP  10%  OF  RP  SMEs

MANILA, AUGUST 6, 2009 (MALAYA) BY MYLA IGLESIAS - SAP Philippines is bullish it will be able to tap 10 percent of the country’s small medium market (SME) market this year despite the global financial crisis according to company top official.

In the recent SAP world tour 2009, Nitin Gangla, SAP Asia director channel business development for SME channel said in an interview that the company currently focuses to have new customers by giving a SAP solution that is suited for their business needs that represent value of prices and applications.

Despite the global financial crisis, Gangla said they expect 10 percent growth as they see huge potential growth for SMEs, which make up 95 percent of businesses in the Philippines.

At present, SAP Philippines has nearly 500 customers that include most of the country’s top corporations and fastest growing small and medium-sized enterprises.

The SME clients are companies with 5 to 10 employees up to 1,000 employees.

Among the large corporation clients are San Miguel Corp., Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), Manila Electric Co., (Meralco), Coca Cola and Globe Telecom Inc.

Gangla said they focus in addressing the needs of the SMEs to give them savings and reduce their costs and time.

One customer, Mariwasa, one of the pioneers in the Philippine ceramic tile industry, has been the customer of SAP since 2007. When the company started using the SAP Business One solution, they saw a reduction in cost and time inventory. With the latest technology, they also saved time in doing a company report.
