MANILA, Philippines — “It must have been love, but it’s over now.” One could almost hear the lyrics of Roxette’s hit song as Ellen Adarna revealed to Philstar.com that the relationship she had with presidential son Sebastian “Baste” Duterte was “a bit” serious and not just for fun.

The relationship, she said, lasted for roughly six to seven months, but it just did not work out.

The 28-year-old sexy star was rumored to be dating the 29-year-old youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte last year after the actress posted a photo on social media showing her and Baste kissing. She then posted couple photos while they were in Siargao.

The actress just confirmed the hearsay this month, when they already broke up via text. Baste was seen alone in the Miss Universe after-party in Okada Hotel last January 30.

“I have work on Valentine’s Day,” said Ellen, who is in ABS-CBN TV shows “Langit Lupa” and “Home Sweetie Home”. Her new movie, “Moonlight over Baler”, will be showing this February 8 with Gil Portes as director.

“Everything’s going to be okay. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end, so be strong!” she urged those who are also nursing a broken heart.

The very foundation of our government has been changed and controlled by the rich oligarchs of this nation. The power is with the few who uses religion, paid mainstream media and black propaganda to benefit themselves and call all these as divine intervention's yellow democracy. This has to stop somewhere.

Let's paint this nation back to blue and red, a nation that nurtures unity and social equality. For a country can truly progress when discipline is being exercise by following the rule of law.

Ellen, Baste react to President Duterte’s apparent reproach 47 SHARES Share it! By: Karen Valeza Updated February 3, 2017, 5:44 PM

Presidential son Sebastian ‘Baste’ Duterte has reacted to the public statement his father made about him supposedly reneging on his duties as parent in favor of being with actress Ellen Adarna.

Ellen Adarna (Instagram) /mb.com.ph

In a Facebook post, Baste said, “Chill lang Pa, bulag na mi December pa, nakalimot lang ka giingnan taka atong new year naa ta sa balay ni mama (Chill lang, Pa, break na kami nung December pa. Nakalimutan mo lang. Sinabihan na kita nong New Year. Andun tayo sa bahay ni Mama).”

Ellen then commented on the post, partly saying in lighthearted tone that President Rodrigo Duterte “naulahi sa balita” (“Nahuli sa balita”).”

Baste replied: “Hay ambot ninyo. Kamo pag uban ni digong, gitabangan na man nuon ko ninyo hahahahaha okay ra uy, kaila na ka nako (Hay ewan ko sa inyo. Magsama kayo ni Digong, pinagkakaisahan ninyo ako. Ok lang, kilala mo naman ako).”

Ellen recently confirmed she and Baste were in a relationship for eight months. She said they broke up in December through text message but they remain friends.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, the President told a convention crowd in Davao that Baste was supposedly not been going home as often as before as “sige lang doon kay Adarna.”

According to the President, he took in Baste’s boy for some time out of pity.

“Nilagay ko sa isa kong bahay na maliit, katabi lang din ng bahay ko, kasi wala doon yung Tatay. ‘Sino mahal mo, papa mo pati mama mo? Mama lang.’ It’s a tragedy…”

The mother of the child is Kate Necesario, who was seen with Baste at the president’s inauguration last July.

When a follower asked him if he and Kate are no more, Baste said: “Wala mi nagbulag ni Kate. Mao tong isa wa kaantos sige kog awayun maong ning batsi ko ato niya (Hindi kami nag-break ni Kate. Yung isa yung hindi makatiis, lagi akong inaaway, kaya yun, umalis ako sa kanya.)”

NEW YORK — Angelina Jolie says that discriminating against refugees for their religion or country of origin "invites the very instability we seek to protect ourselves against."

She also says in a New York Times editorial Thursday that the U.S. decision to suspend refugee resettlements and visits from several Muslim-majority countries isn't the American way.

"Every time we depart from our values we worsen the very problem we are trying to contain," Jolie writes. "We must never allow our values to become the collateral damage of a search for greater security. Shutting our door to refugees or discriminating among them is not our way, and does not make us safer."

A special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees since 2012, Jolie says refugees recommended for resettlement are often survivors of terrorism and torture or may be in need of advanced medical care. Refugees seeking entry to the U.S. already undergo extensive screening by various federal agencies, she says.

"The global refugee crisis and the threat from terrorism make it entirely justifiable that we consider how best to secure our borders," she writes. "Every government must balance the needs of its citizens with its international responsibilities. But our response must be measured and should be based on facts, not fear."

BRIEFLY ON KRIS, OGIE, MAXINE

A top gun from APT Entertainment has just confirmed that no negation to produce a TV show happened between them and the former TV host. And future negation will not ever happen, too. Now, this leaves Kris settling for an online show, which doesn’t even have an audience. Since she can’t go back to her former network, will she finally enter politics like what washed up celebrities do? We heard that’s her next plan.

The singer-songwriter has finally signed a management contract with ABS-CBN. The contract is exclusive, which means he wouldn’t be able to work with other networks like he used to. And considering the fact that he’s got little options when it comes to shows that he can be part of, his partnership with the network will only limit his visibility on TV. Unless of course he’s that too important ABS-CBN would give him his own regular show, which is apparently not happening to more popular and more creative artists.

With almost two million tweets during the coronation day, the country’s bet to the 65th Miss Universe definitely proved that people’s eyes were on on her in her bid to win the coveted crown. As a gracious host delegate, Maxine represented the country well amid the brouhaha surrounding her performance during the Q and A portion and the great pressure for her to deliver the goods. People already knew that Maxine dreads public speaking and what she showed during the pageant was already a better version of herself.
