"The TRUE STORY: nagkausap kami ni James, (James and I have talked) and I showed him my phone with no reply, and he showed me his where he replied- October 31 after I sent my second text. It could be that I am using an iPhone and his was Samsung. I was using iMessage, my roaming was on but I turned off data roaming on that phone and relied on wifi. The misunderstanding above referred to an earlier anecdote she shared about communicating with James about this event. She said that during their vacation in Hawaii, Kris already mentioned the occasion to James via text, but got no immediate response. "Tuesday was the rehearsal and first Confession, Bimb's actual 1st Communion is on Thursday, November 26. I had gone to Church twice while on vacation & felt that I should give him the opportunity to be part of this special occasion, primarily because of the 4th Commandment: To honor thy father & mother. I got no reply until Tuesday, Nov 24 – and only because on Sunday in an IG comment saying it would be good for Bimb's father to be present I answered with the truth that our invitation was ignored.) ALSO Baby of the year: Hello, Maria Letizia Dantes

Photo posted on Instagram by actress Marian Rivera yesterday shows her daughter Maria Letizia. Her husband Dingdong Dantes also posted a photo of the baby who was born on Nov. 23.
Here, at last, are the first photos of the Baby of the Year, Maria Letizia Gracia Dantes, the first child of show biz’s so-called “Royal Couple” Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, born early morning of Nov. 23 the natural way after Marian labored for 18 hours.
“Marian refused to undergo Caesarian section,” said the brand-new dad, who stayed beside his wife every step of the way, videotaping what the couple described as “the most memorable event” of their life. Nicknamed Zia, the baby has been the subject of speculation as to who she looks like, the mom or the dad. Just see for yourself from these pictures who the baby looks like. “I’m happy that Zia looks like Marian,” conceded Dingdong in an interview with The STAR. “Mabuti na lang.” Dingdong explained that the baby was named after the elders in his and Marian’s families. “There are many Marias in my family,” said Dingdong. “My grandmother is named Letizia. There’s also a Letizia on (Marian’s) father’s side.” The couple should have another baby, this time a boy so he would look like Dingdong. “Not so soon,” said Dingdong, adding that he and Marian would like to have three more kids. “Or whatever number God would bless us with.” The baby will be baptized in January with Ai-Ai delas Alas as one of the godparents. Marian and Dingdong will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on Dec. 30. THE FULL REPORT.

KOMIKS KING KIDS: In their parents’ footsteps FUNFARE By Ricky Lo (The Philippine Star) | Updated December 2, 2015 - 12:00am 0 0 googleplus0 0

Carlo Josef (CJ) and Peach Caparas: Learning from their parents, Komiks King Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa, the ABCs of not just film-making but also about life in general. Right: Caparas with Andi Eigenmann, star of Angela Markado which opens nationwide today. — Peach Caparas’ Facebook Page
My friends (Ethel Ramos and Ronald Constantino among them) have known CJ and Peach Caparas since they were babies. They are the children of Komiks King Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa, known as showbiz’s “golden couple” because of the consistent hits produced by their Golden Lions Productions, including the so-called “massacre movies” that made the likes of Kris Aquino and Dawn Zulueta certified “Box Office Queens” (the former for Vizconde Massacre and the latter for The Maggie dela Riva Story). Komiks King/National Artist Carlo J. Caparas shares his two FAMAS trophies with his wife, Donna Villa, We saw CJ and Peach grow up, even acted as their godparents on their baptism. We blinked and when we looked again we were pleasantly surprised to find them grown-up, last seated beside their parents at the presidential table during the presscon for Angela Markado, along with the cast composed of Andi Eigenmann, the rape victim, and her “rapists” Epi Quizon, Felix Roco, Polo Ravales and Paolo Contis. While Peach acted as “OJT observer” of her dad during the shoot, CJ himself plays the fifth rapist in the remake of the ’80s Lino Brocka classic with Hilda Koronel as the rape victim who pursues her tormentors and kills them one by one in an even more brutal manner that they subjected her to. Produced by Oro de Siete Productions (not Golden Lions Productions as Funfare earlier erroneously reported) and Viva Films, Angela Markado, according to Pete Lacaba, scriptwriter of the Brocka movie (based on a komiks serial by Caparas), won the prestigious grand prix (Golden Montgolfiere) at the 1983 Festival of the Three Continents in Nantes, France. “The filmfest is devoted to cinemas of Asia, Africa and Latin America,” added Pete who wrote the Angela Markado screenplay after writing the one for Jaguar, another Brocka movie with Phillip Salvador in the titular role. “So, the Philippines has won just once in the 37-year festival.” What was CJ’s reaction when asked to play a rapist? “I was shocked,” laughed CJ, 26, who is a pre-Law graduate from Ateneo, whose first acting experience was as Manny Pacquiao’s sidekick in the 2009 tele-movie Pangarap Kong Jackpot. “At first, I turned it down. That was my gut feeling because the role was intimidating, something new for me. But my parents succeeded in convincing me, part daw as my training for the craft.” Monday night when CJ saw the whole movie for the first time, he said that he apologized to his dad. What for? “Well,” CJ confessed, “initially I doubted about the quality of the film. I’m glad that the product came out so well.” (Being the writer, Caparas said that his treatment of the subject differed from that of Brocka. “Hilda’s portrayal drew pity from the audience, “noted Caparas, “while Andi’s portrayal draws sympathy. I take my hat off to Andi’s professionalism and her willingness to do the gang-rape scene with realism.”) On the set, CJ insisted that he wasn’t given special treatment. “Dad treated us equally,” he said. “I studied the script very carefully because I didn’t want to disappoint my dad and my mom. The rapist role is my exact opposite. The five rapists all come from rich families.” Did his parents spoil him? “Maybe yes,” he conceded, “but only to a certain point.” CJ’s next movie will be one of the 50 projects that the “golden couple” is co-producing with Viva Films. Asia’s Songbird stages a charity concert in a newly-built Alonte Sports Arena
Regine Velasquez-Alcacid and husband Ogie Alcacid are two of the most generous people in local showbiz when it comes to their time and talent. Although they rarely talk about it publicly, they each support a number of charitable institutions and have continued to do so for years.
Regine, a doting wife, hands-on mom and tireless performer, proves this even more by holding the benefit concert The Songbird Sings in Biñan in Laguna this week. The concert will be held at the all-new entertainment-sports venue in the South, the Alonte Sports Arena, on Dec. 6. Without hesitation, Regine and her management said “yes.” The concert is Regine’s first concert outside Metro Manila in a long time, and the mayor is thankful she agreed to do it. “Kaya lalong sinusuwerte si Regine dahil she’s nice at bukas siya sa mga ganitong klase ng charity project,” Alonte noted. MANILA, DECEMBER 7, 2015 (RAPPLER.COM) Published 12:35 PM, November 26, 2015 -Kris Aquino and ex-husband James Yap attended their son Bimby's First Communion with actor and TV host Vice Ganda. This, after Kris recently posted on Instagram that James was not spending enough time with Bimby.

"For the LOVE of Bimb. Thank you James & thank you @praybeytbenjamin," Kris captioned in a new post showing Kris, James, and Vice at the occasion.

Kris also posted on Instagram a screenshot of her conversation with James, recalling a previous misunderstanding on the issue.

I checked my messages in settings & SEND AS SMS was ON. The text invitation was sent Oct 31 while we were in Hawaii... It is hard to be an ex couple, but for the love of a child, we just have to set aside differences and work on mutual respect. patience & effort lang talaga," she said.

Kris had earlier said in a previous Instagram post that she was disappointed James was not spending time enough with their son.

(I prayed a lot today, weighing sharing the whole truth vs. keeping quiet but fearing that Bimb and I will again be put in a bad light. I'm choosing to share just the simple facts but not posting screen grabs of texts that could come across as pinamukha ko pa ang pagsisinungaling (that it looked like it was a lie)... While we were in Hawaii, to be precise twice on October 31, 12 hours apart I sent a text informing Bimb's father about his first Holy Communion and extending an invitation. I had gone to Church twice while on vacation & felt that I should give him the opportunity to be part of this special occasion, primarily because of the 4th Commandment: To honor thy father & mother. "I reached a turning point in 2014 when I felt I didn't want my son deprived of a relationship with his father because of pride. We settled amicably in court regarding visitation... I know you know how I dote on my two sons, and I prayed for Bimb to feel loved & appreciated not just by me & Kuya, and those close to me, but also by his father and if that meant humbling myself and opening the door to communication, I did do it. I don't have to say much more, all you have to do is check the social media accounts of both of Bimb's parents and you'll see the truth regarding prioritizing parental responsibility.

"The reason for this post is simple, sana matauhan sya (that he'll realize) that he's missing out on being a father to such a good boy. And it's sad that there is no effort for this kind hearted and generous boy from the other person in this world who should want to be a part of his life. Hindi ko pinipigilan, walang issue na sunduin nya sa school at mag merienda sila, pero wala pong kusa. (I'm not stopping him from picking up Bimby in school, have a snack together, but there's no effort). No sharing even with just education expense, sana man lang time and effort. SAD, but that's why Bimb has learned to not look for who's not there for him," Kris said.

Meanwhile, James posted his message for his son.

"Bimb, congratulations on your First Holy Communion. Palagi mong gawing gabay si God hanggang sa paglaki mo. I love you so much my son at ang love ko sayo ay ang isang bagay na 'di kayang alisin ng nino man sa akin. God bless you anak at napaka-ligaya ni Papa na nagkasama tayo muli!"

(Bimb, congratulations on your frist Holy Communion. Always use God as your guide until you grow up. I love you so much my son, and my love for you is one thing no one can take away from me. God bless you my son, and Papa is happy that we're together again.)

Here are more photos from the Communion.

She also shared a photo of her sisters and son Josh at the event.

"Kuya Josh, Tita Ballsy, Tita Pinky & Ninay (@boss1020) - we all LOVE Bimb," Kris wrote.

Kris and James were married in 2005 but separated in 2010. In 2012, their annulment was granted, but controversy bloomed on March 2013, when Kris filed a temporary protection order against James after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances on her. James denied the allegations.

In February 2014, the former couple decided to make peace after reaching custody and visitation agreements. Kris was last linked to Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista, while James is now in a relationship with Italian Michela Cazzola. – Rappler.com

“CJ is right,” agreed Peach, 19, a Political Science graduate also from Ateneo, now doing On-the-Job Training (OJT) as a school project, hoping to follow in her dad’s footsteps as a director.

“I really admire my mom and my dad,” Peach added, “and we siblings are learning a lot from them.”

Unlike CJ who wasn’t able to watch Brocka’s Angela Markado, Peach said that she was able to see part of it.

“I watched the shoot of the rape scene,” recalled Peach, “and it was quite difficult for me. Too revolting. That’s exactly the purpose of the film…to make the audience see how revolting rape is. I admire Andi for her courage. I was there to support her.”

Like CJ, Peach admitted that their parents really spoil them.

“To a reasonable level,” qualified CJ. “Not spoiled rotten.”

And what’s the best lessons that she got from her parents?

“From my dad, dedication to work and loyalty,” she said. “From my mom, humility.”

Dingdong in Paris to present a million signatures at COP21 by NR Ramos December 2, 2015 Share0 Tweet0 Share0 Email0 Share9 image:

Dingdong Dantes

Dingdong Dantes Actor Dingdong Dantes is in the City of Lights for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (2015 COP21).

The 2015 COP21 opened last Nov. 30 and it aims to pursue a legally binding and universal agreement of keeping global warming below 2°C.

The event will run until Dec. 11, attended by numerous global leaders, including French President Francois Hollande, US President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as Hollywood A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio.

Also participating are 25,000 delegates from government, intergovernmental organizations, UN agencies, NGOs and civil society.

In an earlier interview with PEP, Dantes expressed his desire to be at the summit to manifest Filipinos’ support for the effort.

He has brought with him more than one million signatures gathered as part of the One Million Filipino Youth Voices Campaign spearheaded by the National Youth Commission (NYC), which he chairs.

“Magkakaroon ng turnover ng mga signatures na ’yun sa President ng France, na siyang umuupo na president ng COP (Conference of Parties) 21 this year. ’Yung pag-turn over ng signatures ay isang manifestation ng mga boses ng mga Filipinos, particularly the Filipino youth na pumirma roon,” he said.

He told GMA News, “We are now more than inspired to continue the work that we started. Our hard work has initially paid off and we are up to the challenge in breathing life to what was once a huge task.”

Dantes maintained, however, the fight is far from over. “Let us all move fast enough almost on double time before everything turns from bad to worse. We cannot wait. The time to act is now. Our dreams for us and our children will never be realized unless we collectively take the cudgel for a better future.”

Dantes is grateful to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) for supporting the campaign.

“Sila pa lang, ilang milyon na ang pirma nila. Automatic dagdag na agad ’yun sa campaign natin, so malaking bagay…because it strengthens our position, not just in number. Kapag nandiyan na ang larangan ng faith, religion, mas nagiging personal talaga (ang endeavor),” he told PEP.

Dantes is a first-time father, with wife Marian Rivera giving birth to their daughter Maria Letizia only last week.

He admitted to actually having had second thoughts about his Paris trip, sharing how difficult it is for him to be away from his family at this time. However, he maintained, “Mahalaga rin ang gagawin ko du’n. Really, kaya ako mas ginanahang gawin ’yun, para sa kanyang kinabukasan.”

Edu Manzano shares thoughts on traffic amid Christmas rush by Jojo Panaligan December 4, 2015 Share0 Tweet0 Share0 Email0 Share0

Edu Manzano

Edu Manzano There was a time when people stuck in traffic think “What time will I get there?” These days, many in Metro Manila who brave the Christmas rush probably mull deeper and, like that song, go: How do you solve a problem like EDSA?

One of them is Edu Manzano, who hits the road almost every day for his various commitments. In a recent interview, he finds inspiration not within (e.g. be more disciplined, strictly observe traffic rules, honk horn only when necessary) but from his travels abroad.

The actor has gone to different countries, including Taiwan, Japan, Kuala Lumpur, China, the US, and many more. Always, he is amazed at how road traffic in those countries is far more manageable than ours.

He thinks he knows why.

“They have countryside development,” Edu said. “Kasi nga naman, kung sa atin pa ’yan, bakit kailangan magsiksikan lahat sa Manila kung may opportunities naman elsewhere?”

He cited his sister who runs a BPO company. Edu was told that many of her employees come from outside Manila; from Laguna, Bulacan, Rizal. So, see?

“Kung may developments at infrastructure sa mga probinsya, ’di na sila lalayo and that will mean four things: tipid sa gastos sa pamasahe, mas may time ang tao to spend with family, ma-decongest ang streets of Manila at bawas sa pollution,” he said to that effect.

The actor hasn’t lost hope. He said things are being done to ease the traffic situation in Manila but it could take a long time; to the point that, perhaps, only the future generation would benefit from it.

He raved about the transport system in Japan, how everything there runs smoothly and efficiently. He also tipped his hat to the high-speed rail in Taiwan, saying “maganda infrastructure nila, they had (a) master plan.”

When talks touched on the Malaysian capital, it was pointed out that they have a hub, a “convergence platform.” It wasn’t mentioned but it could very well be referring to the Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

“’Yung tipong may isang lugar na lahat ng klase ng mass transportation andun, so pagbaba mo ng bus ay lilipat ka na lang, ’di ka na maglakad nang malayo to take the next ride,” he said. “Sana may ganun din tayo.”

Well, it seems the senatorial aspirant will put the topic of traffic in the backburner by next week. As of interview, the actor said he and his family will head to the U.S. for vacation all the way to New Year’s Day.

As for us, we’ll probably be caught in traffic by then and the days after that, wishing we weren’t. Wanna bet?

Big-time actors for Grace Poe

Senator Grace Poe

Senator Grace Poe is happy with her connection in show business. She is grateful that it provided her family a decent life. As the adopted daughter of Fernando Poe, Jr. and Susan Roces, acclaimed king and queen of Philippine movies, she couldn’t be less thankful to all the people who have worked with her parents and are supporting her until today.

“I’m very proud of the movie and television industry. Iyon naman ang kinalakihan ko. Iyan naman ang nagpa-aral sa akin, iyong mga tumataguyod ng pelikula kaya I’m proud of that,” Grace when interviewed on radio.

Her mother and her friends are throwing in their full support in her desire to serve the Filipino people as President. She is running in 2016 and despite Comelec’s decision to cancel her Certificate of Candidacy last Tuesday for lack of residency required of a candidate for president, she is determined to appeal the decision. She is positive that the Comele en banc will rule in her favor.

Among the big names in show business that are vocal in their support for Grace Poe include Eddie Garcia, Superstar Nora Aunor, Carmina Villaroel, Zoren Legaspi and Joey Marquez.

La Aunor openly defended Grace from the accusations thrown at the senator by her cousin Sheryl Cruz.

Eddie Garcia said he’d campaign for Grace and that wouldn’t change even if offered a large sum by her opponents.

Grace admitted that some of her friends who are director of movies and TV commercials are helping her out in the TV commercials that many Filipinos see on TV now.
