Weeping Jolo to Bong: Sorry, Papa

TEARFUL REUNION Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla and son Jolo cry upon seeing each other at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in this photo released by the office of the senator.

MANILA, MARCH 9, 2015 (MANILA TIMES) REINA TOLENTINO REPORTER - Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. had an emotional reunion with his son Jolo Revilla at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City (Metro Manila) on Tuesday.

According to Lolit Solis, talent manager of the Revillas, Jolo and his father wept when they saw each other.

She said Jolo kept saying “Sorry Papa, sorry Papa.”

“Nag-iyakan silang mag-tatay. Sabi ni Jolo, ‘Sorry Papa, sorry Papa,’ dahil parang nakadagdag siya sa mga problema nila.

Si Bong naman sabi, “Sorry din, anak, sorry din, anak,” kasi siguro sa isip niya, guilty din siya [Father and son cried. Jolo said, ‘Sorry Papa, sorry Papa,’ because he must have felt that he has brought another problem to the family. Bong, on the other hand, said, ‘Sorry also, son, sorry also, son,’ because maybe in his mind, he is also guilty for what is happening to the family since he is still in prison],’ Solis told The Manila Times.

“Nakakaiyak silang panoorin na mag-ama [It was tearful to watch them],” she said.

Revilla was given a five-hour furlough by the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan to visit the Cavite vice governor, who was reported to have accidentally shot himself on Saturday.

Also in the hospital were Revilla’s wife and Rep. Lani Mercado; their children Bryan, the eldest, and Inah, who is now based in Davao; the senator’s sister Andeng Henares; and Jolo’s girlfriend, actress Jodie Santa Maria.

Solis narrated that before the senator arrived, the Revilla family was worried because Jolo spit blood.

“Tapos maya-maya humingi ng pagkain si Jolo kay Jodie. Pagkakain, nung pinupunasan na ni Jodie si Jolo, sabi ni Jolo, “Bakit ganon?

Parang malaki ang tiyan ko [Then Jolo asked for food from Jodie. After he ate, when he was being given a sponge bath by Jodie, Jolo said, ‘Why is it like this? My stomach seems to be bloated?].”

According to Jolo’s doctor, a bloated stomach is a sign that something is not right.

They, however, could not schedule a CT scan until 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. of Monday, by which time the senator would have returned to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center where he was being detained.|

Solis said Jodie left the room when the senator arrived but she was called back by Jolo.

The young Revilla was reportedly cleaning his caliber .40 Glock pistol at his parents’ home in Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa City when the gun went off, hitting him on the right chest.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is investigating the incident.

Cops to start probe of Revilla’s son shooting By Perseus Echeminada (The Philippine Star) | Updated March 5, 2015 - 12:00am 1 288 googleplus0 0

MANILA, Philippines - Muntinlupa police investigators were finally allowed to visit Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center to begin their probe to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident last Saturday inside the Revilla residence in Ayala Alabang.

Police Sr. Supt. Allan Nobleza, Muntinlupa City police chief, said Revilla’s family has turned over the .40-caliber Glock pistol that he was supposedly cleaning when he reportedly accidentally shot himself.

“Yes, we already have custody of the .40-caliber Glock,” Nobleza told The STAR.

He said investigators are now meeting with possible witnesses but declined to give further details of the ongoing probe.

The police probers are composed of members from the Scene of Crime Office (SOCO), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Muntinlupa City police office.

According to police sources, the pistol will be subjected to ballistic examination and Revilla will undergo a paraffin test to determine if he indeed fired the gun.

But lawyer Raymond Fortun, spokesman for the Revilla family, said a paraffin test on the vice governor is too late.

“Kinda late. (The paraffin test) should have been done within 24 hours,” Fortun said in a text message to The STAR.

He did not elaborate but he earlier said that the Revilla family would cooperate with the police investigation as soon as Revilla’s medical condition stabilizes.

He said the latest medical results showed that Revilla has cracked ribs and bone fragments were found inside his body. His lower left and upper right lungs were partially collapse.

Fortun released the medical bulletin to reporters, saying that the test results have “ruled out any urgent condition.”

But he clarified that the partial collapse of Revilla’s lungs is dangerous “if not subjected to medical attention.”

Following the release of the medical bulletin yesterday, the vice governor’s father, Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. has decided not to ask the Sandiganbayan for another furlough, as his presence may no longer be needed in the hospital.

“He (Bong) really just wanted some assurance, to talk to the doctors to make sure that they will take care of his son,” Fortun said. ..

Actor-politician Jolo Revilla and actress Jodi Sta. Maria.

MANILA, Philippines—The lawyer of Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla submitted to the police on Friday several sworn statements which could shed light on Saturday’s shooting incident that left the vice governor injured.

But the sworn statements submitted to the Muntinlupa police headquarters around 1 p.m. were not from Revilla nor from his mother, Lani, who rushed the vice governor to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center after the incident in their house in Ayala Alabang.

“The statements were from (Revilla’s) physician and nurses,” said Senior Supt. Allan Nobleza, officer in charge of the city police.

Nobleza said that Revilla’s lawyer Jeff Zarate had promised that the Revilla family would submit their affidavits “in due time.”

As to the contents of the sworn statements, Nobleza said he was “not at liberty” to disclose them, but said that in essence they described the circumstances when the vice governor was rushed to the hospital due to a gunshot wound in the upper right chest.

“So they described what they saw in his clothes, his skin, if there was any blood,” Nobleza explained.

While the police were still “collating pieces of evidence or material facts” that they “could incorporate” into the results of the investigation, Nobleza said that a paraffin test would no longer be conducted on the vice governor.

He said this was because the 72-hour period within which this should have been done had already lapsed.

Nobleza said the results of the probe, including their “recommendations,” would be available on Monday.
