Ruffa Gutierrez has been open to her daughters about her relationship with Jordan Mouyal. File Photo

MANILA, NOVEMBER 24, 2014 (PHILSTAR) By Joyce Jimenez - Ruffa Gutierrez admires her boyfriend Jordan Mouyal's commitment to their relationship.

Although she's undeniably happy for the few months they've been together, Ruffa said that “For now our focus is really work first and saka na 'yan. Ang inspirasyon naman, importante sa buhay, but for me work muna and priorities in life.”

When asked if she thins he's already “the one,” Ruffa replied, “only time will tell.”

It could be recalled that Ruffa and her mother had a fight, after the latter made a few comments about Mouyal during her birthday party. (PLEASE PLACE ON THE WORD “FIGHT” Annabelle slams Ruffa: Mahirap bang humanap ng guy na stable?

ANNABELLE RAMA'S TWEETS"

In an interview with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Monday, Ruffa admired how Mouyal stayed with him despite the criticism against him.

“Di ba 'yong mga Pinoy [na manliligaw ko] kapag inaaway ni Mommy nawawala nang parang bula! Siya, wala siyang paki, stay!” Ruffa said, laughing.

“What's nice about him is nandyan siya kahit ano pa ang nangyayari. He's there to hold my hand and support me along the way. 'Yong hindi siya nakikialam sa showbiz intrigues o anuman nangyayari. He got his own thing.”

Even before reports about Ruffa and Mouyel came out, she has been open to her daughters Lorn and Venice about their relationship.

The beauty-queen-turned-actress said her daughters wanted to know from her directly if she's seeing someone rather than knowing about it on different news platforms.

MANILA, Philippines – The Gutierrezes welcome a new addition to their family.

Elvis Gutierrez and girlfriend Alexa Uichico introduced their new-born baby girl Aria to the Christian world via a star-studded baptismal party on Sunday.

According to reports, Aria has 25 pairs of godparents, including celebrities such as Lorna Tolentino, Regine Velasquez, and Sen. Grace Poe, among others.

Alexa gave birth to Aria last September.

This comes after Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati revealed they have a baby earlier this year.

Elvis Gutierrez and girlfriend Alexa with daughter Aria who will be baptized this afternoon. Right: The sweethearts with other members of the family led by Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama

MANILA, Philippines - Gutierrez siblings Ruffa, Raymond and Richard take a backseat to their brother Elvis this week when he welcomes his first child with long-term girlfriend Alexa.

Parenthood in the Gutierrez family takes centerstage as they welcome a new addition to their family — baby girl Aria.

Everyone from Annabelle to Eddie reflects on the special moment with Sarah Lahbati and Ruffa talking about jumping on the baby bandwagon. Sarah confesses she would quite readily have another brother for Zion or even twins, while Ruffa contemplates whether she would have the energy for a baby now that her girls are tweens.

But the focus is on the lesser-known sibling Elvis who opens up over the episode. Being known for being part of a famous celebrity family is a challenge; Elvis and Alexa are quite frankly normal people, in a relationship who have regular jobs and who the audience can relate to as their own friends or family members.

Unlike glamorous Sarah and Ruffa who are constantly in demand at social events, Alexa is desperate to just be a good mother and partner for Elvis. She is the salt of the earth and watching the intimate family moment will bring tears to your eyes.

Meanwhile, Aria will be baptized this afternoon in a grand setting which will be covered by E! and aired in a future episode. (E! Channel airs on Ch. 57 for SkyCable and Destiny Digital, Ch. 25 for Cignal and Ch. 33 on Cable Link.)

Tears of Joy at Manay Ichu's and Erap’s starry Seniors Prom Ricky Lo By FUNFARE (The Philippine Star) | Updated November 18, 2014 - 12:00am 0 91 googleplus1 0

Some of those on the ‘wall of stars’ (top, clockwise from top left): Dante Rivero, Joseph Estrada, Jose Mari, Eddie Gutierrez, Eddie Mesa, Bob Soler, Romeo Vasquez, Lito Legaspi and Eddie Garcia; and (bottom, same direction) Amalia Fuentes, Gloria Romero, Minda Morena, Nova Villa, Leonor Vergara, Alona Alegre, Amparo Lucas, Lourdes Medel and Susan Roces . by VER PAULINO

Some are dead and some are living

In my life I’ve loved them all — The Beatles’ In My Life

“I could feel that Ronnie is here,” a misty-eyed Susan Roces whispered to Marichu “Manay Ichu” Maceda as they watched pictures from the so-called Ang Lumang Album being flashed on the monitor that served as the backdrop of the stage at the once-in-a-lifetime reunion hosted by Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada Sunday night at the Sampaguita Events Place.

Susan was watching an old photo of hers from the movie Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw, the first of their series of team-ups leading to their Christmas wedding on Dec. 25, 1968. In another old photo, Da King was dashing, so full of life with so many great expectations, so handsome like a Greek god.

With the Beatles’ song In My Life as background music, the video show was the highlight of the nostalgic evening, drawing tears of joy from most of the “forever stars” that graced, as organizers Erap and Manay Ichu called the event, Seniors Prom.

Fond memories make Susan Roces smile as she watches her late husband, FPJ, in a film clip with Seniors Prom host Manila Mayor Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada (left: with Marichu ‘Manay Ichu’ Maceda who organized the reunion.)

Rightly so, because those who showed up were happily senior, three on wheelchairs: LVN sweetheart Mila del Sol who didn’t look she’s into her early 90s, Josefino Cenizal and Herminio “Butch” Bautista, father of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

In fact, an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia seized the guests as they entered the venue (formerly the bungalow that housed the offices of Sampaguita big boss Dr. Jose R. “Doc” Perez), greeted by their old photos neatly arranged on giant boards that covered one whole wall.

Copies of the pictures had been framed and given to them as souvenirs. Was it Divina Valencia spotted wiping a tear as she scanned the “wall of stars?”

It took Manay Ichu more than three months to accomplish the feat, starting from making the list of stars not only from Sampaguita but from other studios (LVN, Premiere, etc.), carefully checking “who are gone and who have remained,” collecting the photos from Tropicana and other sources, tracing most of the stars’ whereabouts prior to sending them the invitations, dressing up the venue and putting together film clips showing at their prime the likes of Carmen Rosales and Rogelio dela Rosa, Leila Morena and Efren Reyes, Mila del Sol and Leopoldo Salcedo, Gloria Romero in a “balloon” dress, Susan Roces and Amalia Fuentes (in the iconic dance sequence from Big Broadcast, Sampaguita’s anniversary offering back then)…a masterpiece capped by BFF (Best Friends Forever) Erap and FPJ singing the Nonoy Zuñiga classic Doon Lang in split screen.

It was a starry reunion never done before and that may never happen again, making Manay Ichu choke with emotion seeing that 95 percent of those invited showed up.

It was a welcome blast from the past, a testimony to a lasting friendship tempered by time, something that the new breed of stars should emulate.

Old stars don’t fade, they continue to shine

Over dinner, guests had a grand time swapping stories of yesteryear, asking one another what they’d been up to even as they grieved for those who have gone ahead to a place where stars shine forever and ever.

The Seniors Prom wouldn’t be complete without the SOP “class picture,” so Manay Ichu invited the star guests to the stage to pose for posterity. And as the cameras clicked, I guess everybody blinked more tears to the tune of Those Were The Days My Friend playing in the background — you know: Those were the days, my friend, we thought would never end…Sadly, to paraphrase another song, some good things do end, never last.

As the night wore older and everybody hugged everybody else and kissed each other goodbye, another song kept playing in the soundtrack of my mind: Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind…

Oh well, ‘till then, ‘till they meet again for another seniors prom — that is, if there will ever be one again.

Superstar Nora Aunor and Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada proved they have already buried the hatchet when they hugged and gave each other a peck on the cheek at a reunion held Sunday at Sampaguita Events Place in Quezon City.

The two had a falling out in 2001 with Nora appearing in campaigns pushing for Erap’s ouster.

Dubbed “Senior Prom,” the event was organized by Erap and Sampaguita Pictures producer Manay Ichu Maceda. It was attended by movie stars of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

“Sabi ko, ‘yung mga contemporaries ko marami nang nawala (like) FPJ. Eh, sabi ko bago mawala naman lahat magkita-kita naman (kami),” Erap told “24 Oras.”

Manay Ichu said they “worked so hard to get all of them together… I called them my very precious icons.”

Nora, for her part, expressed elation in being asked to participate in the historic event, which was also attended by the likes of Gloria Romero, Susan Roces, Eddie Gutierrez, Jose Mari Gonzales, Eddie Garcia, Celia Rodriguez, Boots Anson Roa, Helen Gamboa, Toby Ferrer, Caridad Sanchez, Nova Villa, German Moreno, Gloria Sevilla, Ai Ai delas Alas, Maricel Soriano, Lorna Tolentino, Nino Muhlach, Elizabeth Ramsey, Carmen Patena, Carmen Soriano, Edgar Mortiz, Ernie Garcia, Mitch Valdes, Herminio Bautista and Maggie dela Riva.

A highlight of the event was the tribute given to the late King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe Jr.
