(ALSO) Amal Alamuddin: What we know about Mrs. Clooney

Amal Alamuddin may have just accomplishe d what many believed was the impossible: snagging Hollywood's most notable bachelor. The Lebanese-born British beauty married George Clooney who many thought could never be tied down. Has Clooney met his match? Not a lot is known about Alamuddin, who is said to have started dating the actor in October 2013 and became engaged in April 2014. But here is what we do know: 1. She's a well-respected attorney. Alamuddin's profile on the site The Legal 500 says she "specialises in international law, human rights, criminal law and extradition." Some of her clients have included the Royal Court of Bahrain and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. "She is also part of the legal team representing the government of Cambodia in a case involving a territorial dispute with Thailand at the International Court of Justice in The Hague," the site says. "She has previously worked as a legal adviser to judges at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and as senior legal adviser to the prosecutor of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon." 2. Clooney isn't the only one who finds her attractive.

She was named one of the 21 hottest female barristers in London on the blog "Your Barrister Boyfriend." The blog states: "Amal Alamuddin may make some feel inadequate because she has achieved the seemingly unattainable ideal of contemporary femininity: She is both breathtakingly beautiful and formidably successful." 3. She's a world traveler.
In addition to being fluent in both Arabic and French, Alamuddin has traveled widely. Her time in the United States included graduating from the New York University School of Law, and among her trips is a safari to Tanzania she reportedly took with Clooney in March. 4. She's discreet. Alamuddin, 36, hasn't been speaking out about her relationship with the 53-year-old star. She has not given extensive interviews and People magazine reported on their wedding based on brief comments from Clooney and guests at the ceremony.5. Alamuddin must be special.

In a recent Esquire interview, Clooney said, "I haven't had aspirations in that way, ever," about becoming a husband and father. ALSO: DON MOEN's 'God Will Make A Way! Philippine Tour 2014' AT THE NEW CCF IN ORTIGAS

PHOTO: THE NEW CCF BUILDING IN oRTIGAS --The popular American singer will take the spotlight during the one-night musical presentation from Ovation Productions almost one year after his last local tour that took him to the cities of Davao, Dumaguete, General Santos and Dipolog in Mindanao and which followed his 2012 concert series that covered Metro Manila, Tagbilaran City and Butuan City. God Will Make A Way! Philippine Tour 2014 will treat the audience to an inspiring musical—and spiritual—experience featuring the musical talent and skill of the 64-year-old artist whose marvelous voice and style also gave the world other popular Christian songs, such as “Lord, I Offer My Life To You,” “Crown Him,” “I Want To Be Where You Are,” “Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord,” “Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate,” “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” “All We Like Sheep,” “Your Steadfast Love,” and many more.

Aside from his excellent vocal quality and style, Don’s music stands out for its straightforward simplicity that bares men’s souls before God, and which contributes in making worship music sound so effortless, animated by his smooth tenor over catchy, string-laden adult contemporary tunes. While many worship leaders can reach only certain demographics, Don can extend to and touch a cross-section of worshippers from diverse social classes and religious beliefs, with many seniors and youngsters enjoying his songs. Associated with some of the best-known contemporary Christian music for more than three decades, Don developed his musical talent while attending Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma until he became a Living Sound musician for Terry Law Ministries. As worship leader for Integrity Incorporated, authors of the “Hosanna! Music” praise-and-worship series, he produced a total of 11 volumes, including the first album, “Hosanna! ALSO: The healing music of Don Moen

I like the way a newspaper write-up referred to Don Moen as the Barry Manilow of Christian music. That is very true. Manilow is famous for writing and recording pop songs that invariably become hits. Moen is also famous for writing and recording pop songs that invariably become hits. Where they differ is that Moen’s are Christian worship songs about man’s relationship with God. A generation or two ago, Moen’s songs would have been classified as church music, accepted in church and during religious ceremonies but shunned elsewhere as old-fashioned or plain churchy. It was Moen who made things different. He saw no reason why songs for or to God have to be limited to the traditional or why church music cannot sound pop. Why not indeed?! And so he decided to change things. Moen, then a young worship leader, composed songs like God Will Make A Way and Lord, I Offer My Life To You. They were simple ballads with commercial melodies that spoke directly to God. They instantly became hits. Not only that, because the songs easily won acceptance with the masses, all of the Christian denominations also took to using them. Nowadays, it is very seldom that a day goes by without us hearing a Don Moen song. For example, there is a strong likelihood that your Holy Mass last Sunday had a Moen soundtrack.

Take a look at these titles from the God Will Make A Way: The Best Of Don Moen album for an idea of what I mean. I am sure you will find most of them familiar. This is also an excellent way to introduce the stranger to Moen’s music, This one has his biggest hits starting from 30 years ago. And this is also great for long-time fans who just want Moen’s inspiring songs playing as they go through their days. God Will Make A Way, Give Thanks, Shout To The Lord, I Want To Be Where You Are, God Is Good All The Time, Hallelujah To The Lamb, I Will Sing, Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord, Celebrate Jesus, Heal Me O Lord, I Am The God That Healeth Thee, Let Your Glory Fall, Here We Are, We Give You Glory, You Make Me Lie Down in Green Pastures, I Offer My Life, Your Steadfast Love, God With Us (He Walked Where I Walk)/ God Is Good/ Now Unto The King Eternal Medley and All We Like Sheep. These songs are the reasons why Moen’s concerts are considered double-edged events. You get the usual music show with an attractive performer singing his hit songs just like Manilow. But in this case, you also get a blessed, uplifting religious experience like what the audience experienced last Friday, Oct. 17 during Moen’s concert held at the new CCF Center on Frontera Verde, Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City beside Tiendesitas. * READ MORE...

WHILE most young girls can only dream of becoming a Disney princess, the Star Magic talent already has her dream come true.

A photo of her as Fa Mulan of the movie Mulan had circulated the Internet before a famous photographer could hint what they were up to.

A few days later, Walt Disney Southeast Asia confirmed that Kim will be part of a project that they will launch soon in the region.

Paolo Ballesteros

Paolo Ballesteros (top, center) and his make up transformations

It all started when he attempted to mimic Mariah Carey in a segment in Eat Bulaga. Now, the 31-year-old host enjoys massive attention from the international media by just using lipsticks and tons of makeup in transforming himself into some of the world’s most famous faces.

Though some people find it a bit bizarre for a guy to turn himself into the likes of Katy Perry or Beyoncé, this eccentricity has anyway won him a lot of social media followers.

Valerie Weigmann

Over the weekend, the 24-year-old model-host left a dozen of beauty queen wannabes disappointed after she walked home with the Miss World Philippines crown. Obviously, Valerie wasn’t just the crowd favorite, but also the sponsors’ bet winning 12 special and major awards during the coronation night. Pageant experts said she’s destined to win the local beauty contest, but winning a two-peat for the country is an entirely different question.

…are not talking about

Kaye Abad

As a reward for her loyalty, Kapamilya Network puts the spotlight on the former teen star by giving her one of the lead roles in the local adaptation of the top-rating Korean series called Two Wives.

If she’s in luck, she could replicate the success of Jodi Sta. Maria who regained her fame after starring in Be Careful With My Heart. That is if the younger talents in the show wouldn’t overshadow her.

Katherine Grace Cosme Abad (born May 17, 1982), better known as Kaye Abad, is the sister of former child star Sarah Jane Abad-Contreras, who is now married to Kamikazee's lead singer, Jay Contreras.

Aga Muhlach

Realizing that politics is not really for him, the be-dimpled actor has decided to be back in showbiz after a self imposed hiatus. His first project would be a movie with his former mother studio’s production outfit.

But doing the movie requires the actor to lose (a lot) weight. Just in case he fails, he will still be very much relevant with his Chickenjoy, which has never been out of season.

StarStruck

GMA Network’s reality-based talent search is coming back for a new season.

According to Yasmien Kurdi, who is a product of the same search, it’s about time that television produces a new batch of stars.

Suddenly, it made us think, how many stars has StarStruck produced since its inception? Can someone refresh our memories? We can hardly remember their names?

God Will Make A Way!

* And while we are on the subject of Moen’s music, don’t you ever think that the man who wrote and sang so many songs about Jesus Christ has forgotten the meaningful Christmas celebration. Moen has a Christmas album titled Season Of Hope, which is made up of popular Christmas favorites like O Come All Ye Faithful and some of Moen’s own compositions like Season of Hope.

Included in the album are It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, O Have Ye Not Known/ Good Christian Men Rejoice Medley, Season Of Hope, Joy, Holy Lamb of God, Agnus Dei/ O Come Let Us Adore Him Medley, Some Children See Him, Mary Did You Know?,, My Christmas Prayer and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
