No needles nor knives needed. You blink and, voila, unsightly fats are gone. In two hours. The six actresses in this feature are neither ashamed nor afraid to tell the world what they gone through. Ruffa Gutierrez: Laser Lipo Arms (from full to flattering arms). Jennylyn Mercado: Laser Lipo Arms (from flabby to fabulous arms). Grace Lee: Laser Lipo Arms (from shapeless to sculpted arms). Angeline Quinto: Laser Lipo Arms (from bulky to beautiful arms). Empress: Laser Lipo Thighs (from huge to hot thighs). Kitkat: Laser Lipo Waist (from straight to sexy waist). Now, let’s hear from them. Some women cut their hair when something happens that they feel needs a change of life direction (as did Sarah Geronimo when her parents initially objected to her romance with Matteo Guidicelli or Kris Aquino when her and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista’s ‘work in progress’ didn’t progress). What’s your take on this? Ruffa: To each his own. I personally would not cut my hair unless I want a different look, not because something drastic has happened in my personal life.

Jennylyn: Whatever makes you happy, whether it’s changing your physical look or even your day-to-day activities, go for it! Grace: Every now and then, women look for ways to refresh, and even drastically change certain aspects of their lives, whether minor physical change (such as haircut) or major career shifts. Whatever the motivation may be, I view this as a healthy expression. But as in all things, there must be limits, tolerance and agreeable reasons in such exercise as to keep it positive. Angeline: Personally, nag-agree ako dito. A woman cuts her hair when she wants change not really in the direction of her life but more of perspective. The way I see it, cutting the hair is a woman’s way of changing her attitude toward a certain thing. It gives her a new sense of confidence because she feels that she’s starting over again or she feels that she becomes a better version of herself. Or because she feels the need to change herself to prove that she can handle change or whatever challenge she encounters in her life. Empress: As long as you won’t regret it, do what you think will help you jumpstart that change. Kitkat: Significantly, I think that they just want to have a fresh start. Cutting her hair symbolizes forgetting what has taken place, and the new look means a new and positive outlook on things. *CONTIUE READING ...

In 1981, Contrary to popular notion, Cuneta's first film was not produced by Viva Films but by a production outfit known as Sining Silangan. Director Danny Zialcita was selected to direct the film; part of his job was also to convince the Cuneta household to allow Sharon to jump into acting.

Almers De Luna, a member of the group Sharon's Angels, revealed that the Cunetas asked for a P220,000-talent fee, which at the time was a large amount for a newcomer. To the disbelief of Sharon's parents, Sining Silangan agreed to pay the sum without reservation.

Cuneta starred in her very first feature film entitled, Dear Heart. She was paired with then Close-Up model and Regal Films' 1980s hearthrob, Gabby Concepcion.

SHARON AND GABBY

Dear Heart was successful and paved the way for future collaborations.

Due to the commercial success of Dear Heart and the team-up of Cuneta and Concepcion (which later on became one of the most successful screen team ups in Philippine films), a sequel was produced. Since Sining Silangan didn't have the means to create an immediate follow up film, Pablo Cuneta collaborated with Vic Del Rosario and established Viva Films.

On November 12, 1981, Viva Films released its first feature film, P.S. I Love You, starring Cuneta and Concepcion. The film was a box office success and was also followed by another Sharon-Gabby collaboration, My Only Love, released on 1982. She paved her way to fame in the early 1980s as a young recording artist and eventually made it successful as a teen actress. Sharon was one of the top stars amongst her contemporaries together with Snooky Serna, Maricel Soriano and Julie Vega.

After playing "poor little rich girl" roles in her earlier movies, Viva Films decided to bring Cuneta to a wider variety of roles. Her musical variety show, The Sharon Cuneta Show transferred to a different network, from IBC to ABS-CBN on March 6, 1988.

Cuneta also continued touring abroad with "The Sharon Cuneta US Concert Tour '88" and was given a Plaque of Welcome and Appreciation from Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley at her show at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.

In 1989, Cuneta worked with Lino Brocka once again in two movies, 3 Mukha Ng Pag-ibig and Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, the latter giving her another Best Actress nomination from FAMAS and the Film Academy of the Philippines.

On June 15, 1997, Cuneta's long-time running musical variety show, The Sharon Cuneta Show ended as she left the country for a while to be with her husband in Boston. Even though Cuneta was not in the country, she remained in the limelight because of her many TV commercials that Filipinos were able to view everyday.

For 2006, she released a studio album entitled, Isn't it Romantic, which was awarded with a Diamond certification (sold over 250,000 units in the Philippines).[31] It was followed with the making of Isn't it Romantic II in 2007.

On January 6, 2006, Cuneta returned to television from her maternity leave with a 40th birthday celebration on ABS-CBN's Ang Pagbabalik Ng Bituin (The Return of the Star). The following month, she came back to her musical talk show, Sharon.

After a long rest from filmmaking, she made another film entitled Caregiver in 2008 which, according to ABS-CBN, is their most expensive film. In this film, Cuneta played the role of a school teacher working abroad as a caregiver. The film was the fifth highest grossing film of 2008.

In 2009, Cuneta did a film with Ai ai Delas Alas via BFF (Best Friends Forever) and for the first time in her 30 years in show business a film with Regal Entertainment via Mano Po 6 (which later on gave her another Best Actress citation at the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival).

On January 12, 2010, coinciding with her annual birthday show, her self-titled magazine Sharon at Home was launched and has since become one of the best-selling titles of ABS-CBN Publishing.

Her long time running musical talk show, Sharon, ended on October 3, 2010, to be replaced by a talent show (which she also hosted) entitled Star Power with singers Christian Bautista and Erik Santos as her co-hosts. Her panel of judges were Edgar Mortiz, Mitch Valdez, and Billy Crawford.

After Star Power, Cuneta hosted the Philippine franchise of the popular US reality show, The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition on May 30, 2011. She hosted with actor, Derek Ramsay.

2011-present: Transfer to TV 5 and Madam Chairman

On November 22, 2011, Cuneta left ABS-CBN, her home network of 23 years, and signed a five-year contract with TV5. The contract was rumored to be worth one billion pesos, according to celebrity tweets in microblogging site Twitter, which is the biggest talent fee ever of any local artist in the Philippine showbiz history.

In 2012, Cuneta started her first talk show under her new network entitled, Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid. The show ran for eight months.

In September 2013, Cuneta became a co-host of musical variety talk show The Mega and the Songwriter alongside Ogie Alcasid. Cuneta's comedy series, Madam Chairman, premiered on October 14. It was her first TV series in 35 years. It revolves around a barangay chairwoman and her struggles in dividing her role as a mother and as a public official.

International success

Cuneta is the first Filipina artist to sell out at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium first in 1988 and her latest June 11, 2005, concert. Her poster is included in The Shrine's Hall of Fame next to stars Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand and the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico. She created a traffic jam in the 1990s and puzzled the former Mayor of Los Angeles Tom Bradley. After hearing of her success, the mayor attended the concert and awarded Cuneta with an Honorary Key to the City of Los Angeles.

She sang a duet in the 2001 with Hong Kong star Andy Lau, with whom she sang "In Your Eyes" composed by Jim Brickman.

Personal life
Cuneta publicly married Gabby Concepcion on September 23, 1984, but got separated in 1987, and later on annulled in 1993 due to irreconcilable differences.

Their wedding ceremony became the most attended nuptial in Philippine history, which was held at the Manila Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and was personally sponsored by Ferdinand Marcos and various high-ranking Roman Catholic prelates of the Republic of the Philippines. Together, they have a daughter named Maria Kristina Cassandra Cuneta Concepcion, or better known as KC Concepcion.

After her separation from Concepcion, Cuneta married Kiko Pangilinan on April 28, 1996. The two tied the knot in a very private ceremony, attended only by Pangilinan's siblings and principal sponsors Helen Gamboa and husband Tito Sotto III.

According to Cuneta's mom Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, the two had originally planned to hold the wedding at a hotel, but she insisted that they relocate it at her house since Sharon expressed that she didn't want a "circus" similar to her first wedding.

Sharon's true loves: Senator Kiko Pangilinan and children KC, Frankie, Miel and Miguel.

Cuneta has two daughters with Pangilinan named Simone Francesca Emmanuelle "Frankie" Cuneta Pangilinan and Mariel Daniella Sophia "Miel" Cuneta Pangilinan, and an adopted son named Miguel Samuel Mateo Cuneta Pangilinan.

MANILA, Philippines – After almost 3 years, actress, singer and host Sharon Cuneta has left TV5. The star tweeted the news herself on Friday evening, August 29.

According to a report from Interaksyon, TV5 issued this statement following the news: “TV5 wishes to extend its gratitude to Ms. Sharon Cuneta for being part of the Kapatid Network for almost three years. The network wishes her well in all her future endeavors.”

All this comes shortly after Sharon publicly talked about her personal issues and “mid-life crisis,” which includes her struggle with her weight.

In a Facebook post dated August 21, she thanked fans for their support and concern and said that she was in a “good place” in her life, even if she was at her “lowest point in her career and life.”

She clarified that statement, saying: “I say my life because I worry for my Mommy, I worry about my other loved ones, my many responsibilities to them and my many obligations. I say my career because I obviously haven't been visible lately and have had to deal with obstacles to achieving my goals."

In the same letter, she also teased her future projects.

“Now I also want to let you all know that I do have some surprises up my sleeve!:-) All for you! In fact, some may be coming up much sooner than you think. Very, very soon.” – Rappler.com

‘Back to basics’: Sharon Cuneta leaves TV5 By Bayani San Diego Jr. | Philippine Daily InquirerSeptember 1, 2014 | 12:15 am

SHARON Cuneta is “grateful for, and humbled by, all the loving words of encouragement.” PDI FILE PHOTO

In her open letter to fans, posted on Facebook last week, singer-actress Sharon Cuneta vowed, “I am going back to basics.”

What she meant became clear only when she announced on Twitter and Facebook on Friday night that she was “no longer with TV5.”

(She left ABS-CBN, her home studio for 23 years, to join TV5 three years ago.)

That same night, Cuneta’s manager (and Viva Entertainment head) Vic del Rosario told the Inquirer that “Mega” (as Cuneta is known in the biz) was now a freelancer.

Comanager Sandra Chaves likewise told the Inquirer: “Projects are in the works. She will make announcements as they are confirmed.”

Deluge of comments

In her Twitter and Facebook posts, what Cuneta said was that she’d be be working on “things…which could start sooner than you think.”

Cyberspace was deluged with comments from fans and foes alike. When Inquirer Entertainment broke the story on Friday night on Twitter and INQUIRER.net, both sites received all sorts of responses—from the encouraging (“Good for her!”) to the inane (“Is she moving to the government station (Ch. 4)?”)

* On her fanpage, Mega’s announcement received more than 2,100 “likes” overnight and 354 comments.

Saturday morning, she posted this message on Facebook: “Good morning, everyone! It’s a beautiful day! I have not seen a day as beautiful as today in a few years and I [couldn’t] be happier…Thank you for your loving words of encouragement…I wish you all a beautiful day just like mine.”

A bit of confusion

Prior to her Friday announcement, Mega set the record straight with the Inquirer and clarified several issues that arose from her open letter.

No, Hollywood actor Robin Williams’ recent passing (from apparent suicide) didn’t cross her mind. Neither was she on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Her confession caused a bit of confusion.

Former costars Judy Ann Santos and Herbert Bautista expressed concern; daughter KC Concepcion pledged support. A few pundits had their own opinions, insinuating that Mega’s message was a cry for help and/or inspired by Williams’ tragic death.

Best to take it straight from Mega: “Yes, I’ve been sad but no, I haven’t gone crazy, or entertained any thoughts of harming myself.”

Midlife crisis

She told the Inquirer: “I think some people misunderstood. If you reread my post, what I said was that I had a midlife crisis when I hit 40 (eight years ago), and that it lasted for a couple of years. I am long over that.”

A few days after the Facebook missive, Mega insisted, “I am feeling better.” She said she was just glad that she got to vent.

“I had typed that [open lettter] from out of the blue, with tears streaming down my face. I felt that was my weakest point,” she recounted. “It was [addressed] solely [to] my most loyal fans and supporters who have been patiently waiting for so long for me to deliver something to them. I felt so bad that I had let them, and myself, down.”

She described her letter as a “pure apology from the depths of my heart. I hadn’t been moved enough to humble myself that much in all these years.”

She reiterated that the main cause of her outburst was her weight. “Plus, a few other problems, concerns and obligations that I’ve had to deal with these past few months.”

She felt besieged, Mega explained. “Everything seemed to be coming at me all at once, and at full speed. I had never experienced anything like it.”

For those troubles, she wanted to take full responsibility.

“Even with my loving husband (Francis Pangilinan) by my side, it is only I, with the help of God, who can solve my problems, as it was only I who had caused them,” she said.

What she found most stunning was that a lot of ink and airtime was devoted to her Facebook apology.

Outpouring of love

“It came as a bit of a shock to me that lots of people, even the networks, thought to pick it up,” she admitted. “I had no idea there was going to be this outpouring, this avalanche of love and support.”

Friends she hadn’t seen in years “came out of the woodwork,” she said.

“It’s all good. I felt I had to take responsibility for my actions, and say what I really wanted to say to those I wanted to say it to.”

For all that had happened since, she said, she was “truly humbled and grateful.”

Belo’s Bodies of Work CONVERSATIONS By Ricky Lo (The Philippine Star) | Updated September 7, 2014 - 12:00am 0 0 googleplus0 0

RUFFA GUTIERREZ

Ruffa: I would not cut my hair unless I want a different look, not because something drastic has happened in my personal life Meet Belo’s Laser Lipo All-Star, shown in their “before” and “after” bodies.

* What’s the best thing have you done to any part of your body, and why?

Ruffa: The most amazing thing I have done to my body is Laser Lipo by Belo. My arms are more flattering from being so chunky and full. Of course, I would only recommend doing it with the best. Someone I can trust who is an expert on Lipo like Dra. Vicki Belo.

Jennylyn: Definitely by exercising and eating right. Aside from that, having undergone Laser Lipo for my arms. I wanted more definition in that area. Super love the quick results!

Grace: For the longest time, I was quite insecure about my chubby arms. Everything I wore was designed and colored to cover my arms and make it look slimmer. After years of exercise and other non-surgical procedure, I finally came up with the courage to push through with laser lipo with Dr. Vicki Belo. Despite my worries and skepticisms, I was absolutely pleased with the results immediately. I was back to work in two days and people noticed how I seemed to have gotten slimmer so quickly! There were changes in my weight but everyone commented, “Grabe, ang payat mo na!”

Angeline: Laser Lipo on my arms. Sulit na sulit. In an instant, ang ganda na ng arms mo; you don’t have to go on a diet or work out in the gym. Cheaper pa than non-surgical slimming. Naging mas confident ako, mas masaya. Whatever will make you happy, do it, as long as you don’t step on other people’s toes.

Empress: Ever since, my problem has been my thighs. They would tease me because my thighs daw were not in proportion with the rest of my body, so I decided to undergo Laser Lipo by Belo. Now, I can wear shorts and mini-skirts with confidence.

Kitkat: Laser Lipo on my waist. I’m super happy with it and I feel more confident. What I like about Laser Lipo is that besides its fast results, it removes fats in the areas where you don’t want them. Before, straight ‘yung figure ko so I requested Dr. Vicki Belo to sculpt my body. Hayun, nagkaroon ng curves! Barbie-looking na ako bigla!

If you were to have the body of another woman (although yours is already perfect), whose body would it be and why?

Ruffa: I would definitely choose Heidi Klum. She is stunning! At 41 with three children and a rock-hard body, she hasn’t aged a day!

Jennylyn: I would love to have the body of Maria Sharapova. Super toned and tight!

Grace: I’d love to have a body like Charlize Theron’s. She has perfect proportions. Got to love her long, flawless, slim arms and legs. Sculpted perfectly and so statuesque. She exudes elegance and her swan-like neckline is truly an envy of women.

Angeline: The body of Miley Cyrus. I find so sexy ang pagiging lean and toned ng body niya. I also like it that she doesn’t have any inhibitions in expressing herself.

Empress: The body of Beyoncé. I love the way she flaunts her assets.

Kitkat: Jennifer Aniston. Besides being sexy, she has a gorgeous face; she’s able to maintain her sexy and toned body despite her age. Her self-confidence enhances her personality.

One word that describes your present state of mind and heart?

Ruffa: Overjoyed!!!

Jennylyn: Contented.

Grace: Grateful.

Angeline: Contented.

Empress: Curious? Hahahaha!

Kitkat: Awesome!

Billy Crawford goes berserk at police precinct; jailed By Aries Joseph Hegina, Kristine Felisse Mangunay | INQUIRER.net, Philippine Daily InquirerSeptember 7, 2014 | 8:02 pm

Singer and TV host Billy Crawford apologizes for his drunk behavior for the incident at the Taguig Police station 7 which led to his detention at the Taguig City police headquarters. INQUIRER PHOTO/RAFFY LERMA

MANILA, Philippines — Television host Billy Crawford was arrested on Sunday after authorities said he went berserk in a police station in Taguig, at one point causing a glass door of the station to break into pieces.

Inspector Jonathan Aribe, police community precinct 7 commander, said over the phone that charges of malicious mischief, direct assault, resisting arrest and disobedience to authority have been filed against the “It’s Showtime” host with the Taguig Prosecutor’s Office after the incident around 4:30 a.m.

Ernest Buenviaje, Crawford’s legal counsel, told reporters around 3 p.m., however, that “no charges are being filed yet.”

According to Aribe, Crawford arrived in the police station in The Strip drunk.

“He wanted to be imprisoned, and during that time, only two lady policewomen were there,” Aribe said.

Senior Superintendent Arthur Asis identified the policewomen manning the police desk as Police Officer 1 Jasmin Sipagan and Police Officer 1 Rodelma Canao.

Aribe said that only the two were in the station as the other on-duty officers had responded to another incident nearby.

“‘What’s the problem, sir?’ the policewomen asked. ‘Wala na kayo dun!(It’s none of your business)’ Crawford said,” Aribe narrated.

* Aribe said Crawford suddenly “forced himself against the glass sliding door (pilit niyang ibinabangga sarili niya sa pinto),” prompting the policewomen to try restraining him.

“But the more you restrained him, the more he resisted and he pushed and elbowed the policewomen,” Aribe said, adding the glass door ended up breaking as a result.

He said one of the policewomen had to call a police mobile for backup.

It took around five minutes for the backup to arrive, he said.

“Crawford was handcuffed when the additional policemen helped,” Aribe said.

In an interview with reporters at the Taguig police headquarters where Asis said he was “under custody,” Crawford apologized for the incident.

He said he “did not see anything wrong with what (he) did.”

He said when he was angry, he was not “plastic.”

“If there’s someone that speaks derogatorily to me or anything, reresbak ako (I get even). It’s my protection. That’s one of the reasons why I went to the prison and said, ‘Just please arrest me.’ Kasi I do not want to be drunk roaming around or making a fool out of myself which I am right now. That was it,” he explained.

He said he calmed down when he was handcuffed.

“When I sat down, I just… I don’t know. This was the rest I was saying I wanted,” he said, adding he couldn’t “contain myself if I’m under the influence of alcohol.”

“I was going to say that was the only thing that was wrong for me. I just really apologized,” he said.

He said one lesson he learnt was to “maybe lessen the alcohol and act like a grown up.”

“It’s really immature and it’s a shame for me,” he said.

Luis Manzano, an actor, showed up in the police station to show support for Crawford but he has not faced the media as of press time.

TRANSCRIPT: Boy breaks silence about his health ABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 09/07/2014 8:54 PM | Updated as of 09/07/2014 8:54 PM

MANILA -- Television host Boy Abunda has finally spoken up about his medical condition, revealing the real reason behind his long absence from his talks shows "The Buzz" and "Aquino and Abunda Tonight."

In an exclusive interview aired on "The Buzz" on Sunday, Abunda revealed what really happened to him.

"Maraming salamat sa inyong pagdalaw dito sa aking tahanan, thank you. I look forward to this interview. May mga panahon sa ospital parati kong sinasabi, kailan ko ulit masasabing: Magandang hapon, Pilipinas at sa buong mundo, welcome to 'The Buzz.' But I'm glad to be back."

"Maraming mga taong nagtatanong: Ano ba talaga ang sakit ni Boy? Parang, ang tagal-tagal, parang nakalabas na siya sa ospital, pero bakit hindi pa siya lumalabas sa telebisyon. Ano ba talaga ang kuwento?"

"Hindi po ako naospital mula nung ako ay nag-umpisa maghost sa telebisyon. Kaya naiintindihan ko bahagya kung bakit maraming tao ang nasindak na ako ay nagkasakit."

Abunda then went on to describe why he was sent to the hospital.

"Bumigay na ho talaga ako. Sobrang sakit po ng aking ulo. Ayon sa nurses na aking kasama, ayon sa aking mga nagbabantay, nagdeliryo ho ako. Nagkombulsyon ho ako. Ang sabi sa akin, nag0chi-chill daw ako sobra, sobrang-sobrang chill, nakakatakot daw akong panoorin. Tapos kinakagat ko daw ang aking dila, I was gnashing my teeth, I was biting my lips, so I was bleeding."

"Meron palang pagkakataon sa buhay ng isang tao, mga kaibigan, that, sobra kang hina, that you are so helpless. Ibinigay ko sa Diyos ang aking buhay, at ibinigay ko sa mga doktor, ang aking buhay."

"Kahit anong test, kahit anong test, I'm open, sabi ko sa aking doktor, to any test. So lahat ho 'yun pinagdaanan, dengue, tipus, typhoid, HIV, hepa, lungs, liver, kidneys at marami pa pong iba."

After undergoing several tests, doctors found an abscess in Abunda's liver.

300 ml."

Abunda narrated that it was difficult for him at the hospital.

For the first time, kahit naroon 'yung mga mahal ko sa buhay, kahit naroon si Bong (Quintana, his longtime companion), naroon 'yung mga nurses, naroon 'yung aking kapatid, for the first time in my life, doon ko po naramdaman 'yung ...may episode ho pala, na ikaw lang at ang Diyos, and you are stripped naked of everything."

"Kinausap ako ng malakas ng Diyos, tinapik ho ako ng malakas, dahil yumabang ho ako. One of my doctors said: You know Boy, for many years, hindi ka naman nao-ospital, you've been running too fast. You thought you were invincible, you thought you were Iron Man. Ipinapaalala lang sa'yo ng Diyos, at ng katawan mo, na hindi mo kaya ang lahat."

"My stay in the hospital humbled me. Powerless po talaga. May mga hapon, darating po 'yung akin doktor at sasabihin, it seems like your favorite place in the room, nandoon po ako sa gilid, nilalagyan ko na po ng pangalan ng mga building sa labas ng St. Luke's, lahat po 'yun kinakausap ko, tumatawa ako, para akong baliw."

Abunda was discharged from the hospital, and went on a vacation to recover.

"I became better, August 23, I was released from the hospital."

"I called Louie Andrada, our business unit head, and I said, Lou, I'm getting out of the hospital tonight, can you give me time? Sabi ni Louie, take your time. Restore. Recover. Kumain ka ng madami, ibalik mo ang kulay mo, magpataba ka. When you're ready, tell us. Nandito lang kami."

"Louie, Cory (Vidanes), lahat ng mga bosses namin sa ABS-CBN, salamat."

The host also narrated how his experience made him realize what he really want to do in life.

"Sabi ko, Panginoong Diyos, ano ba talaga ang gusto ko sa buhay ko? Bakit ganito na lamang ka-passionate, bakit ganito na lamang ka-driven ako sa trabaho ko? What is it that I want?"

"Simple lang naman pala talaga ang sagot. Sabi ko, gusto ko lang magtrabaho, dahil gusto ko lang mabigyan ng mabuting buhay ang aking pamilya, at maalagaan ang aking nanay. Also because I love my job."

"Pero sa ospital, nakiusap na lang ako sa Diyos, sabi ko, Panginoong Diyos, huwag mong pabayaang ilibing ako ng nanay ko. I don't want to die. Ayokong mamatay."

Abunda revealed that his mother, who has mild dementia, didn't know he was in the hospital.

"Ang sinabi namin sa nanay ko noong ako ay nasa ospital, na nasa abroad ako, dahil nanay has mild dementia. Pero alam niyo po, pagdating ko sa bahay, kahit sinabi nila na nasa abroad ako, dahil ayaw naming mag-alala ang aking ina, ang unang salita na sinabi sa akin: Magaling ka na ba? Magpalakas ka."

"Ang nanay ko na may dementia alam ang kalagayan ko."

He also said he knew that some people were circulating malicious rumors about his absence.

"Nakakatawa po na sa huling gabi ng aming bakasyon sa Amanpulo noong isang araw, pumunta lang si Bong sa isang site, kung saan may nakasulat at ang sabi, 'Paalam po, Tito Boy. Ikinalulungkot naming ibalita, ang mahusay na talk show host ay pumanaw na dahil sa colon cancer. Ito po ang dahilan kung bakit hindi siya nakikita sa telebisyon.'"

"Sinasabi ko ho ito dahil, I am not dignifying these speculations, but I am acknowledging them. Ina-acknowledge ko na ilang beses akong pinatay ng iba't ibang sakit."

"Isang kasinungalingang sabihin na natutuwa ako sa lahat ng nag-imbento ng mga maling balita. It's not fair. Okay na ako doon sa mga hindi ko kilala eh, kasi I'm a public figure."

"Sa lahat sa inyo, na nagnais sirain ako, may intent man o wala, pinapatawad ko kayo. Totoo po 'yan mula sa aking puso."

Abunda went on to thank the people who stayed with him while he was sick.

"I cannot do this interview without having to thank. Alam ko po hindi ko kayang pasalamatan ang lahat sa sobrang dami po ng nagdasal, sumuporta, nagmahal, at patuloy na nagmamahal. I've never felt so loved. I've never felt so missed."

"Sa pamilya ko, thank you Bong, at ginawa mong opisina ang St. Luke's, para lamang makasama ako, kasi ang lungkot-lungkot ko talaga."

"Thank you God, salamat talaga. To my Backroom family, salamat. Aileen, alam mo kung nasaan ka sa puso ko."

"Our beloved president, Charo Santos-Concio, thank you, for the kind words. Louie, Deo (Endrinal), Nancy, thank you."

"Hindi ko kayang makita si Kris (Aquino) pa, hindi ko alam kung bakit. Thank you for your love. Salamat talaga, Krissy. Salamat. This is one of the worst falls. This is a bad fall, Krissy, and you managed to catch me. Salamat for covering for me, thank you for doing "Aquino and Abunda Tonight."

"Toni and Alex (Gonzaga), salamat for covering for us, every time Krissy wouldn't be able to do the show. Vice (Ganda) for doing 'The Buzz.'"

"Thank you, Gretchen Baretto. Di ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko, alam kong magkaibigan tayo Gretch, we've been friends for a long, long time. Dominique, salamat. I was told you would tell your mom to hurry and go to the hospital, and bring me food. Tony, salamat."

"Ang staff ko rin, dito sa bahay. Sa inyong lahat, walang maliit na bagay na ginawa, maraming, maraming salamat."

Abunda said he is now recovering, adding he might be back on "The Buzz" next Sunday.

"I'm okay. Right now, ang aking estado po, I am starting to gain more weight.

"May sakit lang dito, kapag tumatawa, kapag umiiyak, kapag nagiging emosyonal, pag medyo kumikilos."

"Am I absolutely healthy? Siguro nasa mga nobenta porsyento na po. I am on my way to joyful, great recovery."

"Of course, I will continue to do my work on television. I should be back really soon. I will be back. If you want a date, malay ho natin, next Sunday, September 14, baka magbukas na ho ako ng 'Buzz' at magsabing: magandang hapon Pilipinas at buong mundo. Welcome to The Buzz."

MANILA – TV host Boy Abunda is still recuperating after he recently underwent an aspiration of the liver abscess, his doctor said on Sunday.

In a statement read on “The Buzz” by Toni Gonzaga, Abunda’s doctor said the TV host’s condition has tremendously improved, adding that his appetite is slowly coming back.

“Restful sleep is restored and basic physical activity has resumed. In the upcoming few days, antibiotic treatment will be completed. Meantime, supportive care will continue and periodic monitoring by laboratory exams will be done to ascertain that he is on track towards full recovery,” the doctor said.

According to the statement, Abunda will no longer need any further invasive procedures if his condition further improves.

“Boy is a patient patient, interrogates the staff when necessary but compliant. Most importantly, he actively participates in his care. This dynamic cooperation with his healthcare providers has contributed to the current state of improvement in the outcome of his medical care,” his doctor said.

Kris Aquino, Abunda’s close friend, confirmed last Wednesday that the TV host was rushed to hospital on August 9 when his temperature reached 41 degrees Celsius.

Since then, Abunda has been absent on “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” as well as on “The Buzz.”

On Sunday, comedian Vice Ganda filled in for both Abunda and Aquino, who is currently on vacation, on "The Buzz," with regular host Toni Gonzaga.
