Comedian Vice Ganda came to the defense of Enchong Dee, amid persistent speculations that the young actor is gay and is not really in a relationship. This comes after Dee has chosen to remain mum about the identity of her girlfriend, saying he wants to keep their relationship private. Speaking on “The Buzz” where he was a guest co-host on Sunday, the openly gay comedian admitted that he also used to think that the “Once in a Princess” actor might be a homosexual. “Kasi ako personally, pinagdudahan ko rin ang pagkatao ni Enchong. ALSO: What Kris thinks about 'lavish lifestyle' of Jinggoy's son

Posted at 06/29/2014 5:08 PMTelevision host Kris Aquino weighed in on the supposed "lavish" lifestyle of Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s son Jolo amid the pork barrel scam controversy. Speaking on “The Buzz” on Sunday, Aquino said she could not speak on behalf of Jolo because she does not know him too well. But she can attest to the simplicity of Estrada’s daughter Janella. “Janella is my inaanak. Wala akong nakita sa kanyang karangyaan. She’s a councilor in San Juan, she’s the daughter of Jinggoy and Precy and, in fact, several times niya ako dinalaw sa set. Simple ang sasakyan at simpleng manumit and siguro because nga pulitika na siya. Marunong makisama, nagdala ng merienda,” she said. “Hindi ko masyadong kilala 'yung brothers niya and hindi ako makaka-comment sa mga posts nila. Pero doon sa kakilala kong anak nila, gusto ko 'yung pagpapalaki sa kanya kasi makatao siya,” she added.

Last week, several netizens compared Jolo’s alleged Instagram posts – which showed him wearing Louis Vuitton shoes, staying in a presidential suite at the Manila Hotel, and riding a private jet – to that of Jeane Napoles, the daughter of alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim Napoles. Last year, Jeane caught the attention of Filipino Internet users after flaunting some of her pricey possessions, from a Porsche Boxter and a Ritz Carlton condominium to Hublot and Chanel watches. Pep.ph, however, reported that Jolo is maintaining a different Instagram account, noting that the controversial photos may have been posted by a “hater.”

Former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada also came to the defense of his grandson saying Jolo can easily afford to buy Louis Vuitton shoes, citing his grandson’s projects as an actor. Meanwhile, Aquino also touched on the topic about Jolo’s diplomatic passport, which was the subject of a viral blog post that came out after Estrada’s surrender and subsequent detention at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center. “When my mom was president and she did bring me on official trips, nakagamit ako ng diplomatic passport. Nung sinamahan ko siya nung nag-Washington kami, dinala niya ako sa Japan and sa Europe. But I had another passport for the times na hindi ko siya kasama kasi hindi tama na gagamitin mo kung hindi dahil sa official na dahilan,” she said. * READ MORE...

In a statement given to ABS-CBN News on Thursday, Concepcion said her mother has yet to tell her about the struggles she revealed in a Facebook post early this week. "Nag-uusap kami ni mom and wala naman siyang na-mention sa akin na problem. Masaya nga 'yung talk namin sa phone noon," she said. 'Behind her 100%' In her letter, Cuneta apologized to her fans for being complacent and "letting herself become fat," which she said negatively affected her career and her behavior towards her peers. "I was going through a mid-life crisis, the effects of which I could never have foreseen. My reaction to it was awful; I became rebellious because I hated myself for the way I looked and the time I continued to waste by not focusing and working on bettering my own person. Vice Ganda defends Enchong Dee on gay rumors

MANILA, AUGUST 25, 2014 (ABS-CBN)  Comedian Vice Ganda came to the defense of Enchong Dee, amid persistent speculations that the young actor is gay and is not really in a relationship.

Minsan sa buhay ko sinabi ko sa sarili ko ‘Bakla itong si Enchong.’ May lambot kumilos, effeminate,” he said.

But Vice Ganda was quick to add that not all effeminate men are gay.

“Hindi naman lahat ng effeminate at malambot kumilos bakla at hindi rin lahat ng matitigas na lalaki ay totoong lalaki. Hindi naman kapag nakabestida, totoong babae. May nakabestidang tomboy,” he said.

Nonetheless, Vice Ganda quoted a person close to Dee, who told him that the actor is not gay.

“Meron akong taong nakausap na napakalapit sa kanya na kung merong makapagsasabi kung ano si Enchong, siya ‘yun. Tinanong ko, ‘Bakla ba si Enchong?’ Hindi daw. Oh eh ‘di tanggapin ko sarili ko na hindi. Bakit ko ipipilit sa sarili kong bakla kung hindi? Wala namang magagawa sa buhay ko 'yan,” he said.

Vice Ganda also criticized those who continue to insist that Dee is gay.

“Bakit ba pinipilit niyong bakla si Enchong? Unang una, kung bakla, ano naman? May magagawa ba kayo? May problema ba kayo sa bakla? Kung sinabi niyang hindi bakla, bakit hindi niyo pa rin matanggap?

“Get a life. Sinabi niyang hindi siya bakla, wala na tayong magagawa, paniwalaan natin,” he said.

* Aquino said she was given a diplomatic passport then because she was still a minor and was unmarried.

Now that her brother is the President of the Philippines, Aquino stressed that she no longer has a diplomatic passport, and that the President also does not want her or any of their siblings to join him on any official trip.

“Ilang times kami na mga kapatid niya in-invite to join him. His stand has always been, ‘Kapatid ko lang kayo, dagdag gastos. Maiwan na lang kayo dito.’ So none of us now have a diplomatic passport because none of us have joined him on any official trips. There was once, kasi si First Lady ng Malaysia friend ko, sabi ko, ‘Noy, she called me. Ako na magbabayad.’ Sabi niya, ‘Huwag na. Iwan na lang,’” she revealed.

MANILA – Makati Mayor Jejomar "Junjun" Binay Jr. cleared speculations about his relationship with host-actress Kris Aquino, whose family is known to have close ties with the Binays.

Speaking on ANC’s “Headstart” on Monday, Binay was asked if he and Aquino dated in the past.

“No, we are friends,” he answered firmly, as he shared an anecdote to illustrate the close ties between the two political families.

Binay also revealed that he was the one tapped by the Aquinos to take the body of the late former President out of the hospital, which was never reported in the media.

* “I was tasked to do something for the family. I took her out eh, si Tita Cory without anyone noticing that she was out of the building. There’s no video clip showing the President going out of the building when she died. When the President announced that his mom died, that was practically the same time that we left Makati Med,” he said.

“I’m just telling you this because of the closeness of both families. Hindi naman ie-entrust sa akin na ilabas si Tita Cory kung hindi rin naman nagtitiwala sa amin 'yung pamilya. Again, magkasama kami [nila Kris] sa Makati Med,” he added.

Binay lost his wife, Kennely, in 2009, after giving birth to their youngest daughter.

The TV host, who is the youngest sister of President Aquino, earlier denied that she was dating the Vice President's son even after they were spotted watching a concert in Manila last 2011.

Aquino later said Binay was dating somebody else.

KRIS, JUNJUN AND THE VICE PRESIDENT

MANILA - Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin 'Junjun' Binay Jr. said his father may not agree with all of President Benigno Aquino III’s opinions, but he is ready to take a bullet anytime for the president and his entire family.

In an interview with ANC, Binay said: “It was my father who protected them while they were on their way to Club Filipino. During the coup d’etats, it was my father who was with them, willing to stake his life for them. Nothing has changed. He is willing to take a bullet for the Aquino family.”

He said the closeness of the Binays and the Aquinos go way back.

“They won’t entrust her body to me if they don’t have faith in us,” he said.

Binay himself was also in the hospital taking care for his sick wife. Kennely Ann Lacia Binay died 10 days after Cory’s death.

Binay said, however, that his father is not a “yes man.” He said the vice president will speak his mind unlike some who will say “yes” but for personal interests.

* He cited, for instance, Aquino’s willingness to amend the Constitution, specifically on the provision limiting the term limit of a president.

“The point is, it will not be beneficial to the legacy left by Tita Cory. I’m sure she will not allow this. I’m sure that whatever he said in the interview, he will later on realize he’s not after a second term, but he has seen the flaws in the Constitution and that certain amendments should be done such as the economic provisions,” he said.

He noted the issue was first heard from someone else.

“There was one who said he wants a second term for the president. We’ll just leave it there,” he said.

MANILA - "Ikaw Lamang" actress KC Concepcion assured her mother Sharon Cuneta of her full support, days after the entertainment industry veteran admitted in an open letter to her fans that she is going through one of the lowest times in her life and career.

'Behind her 100%'

In her letter, Cuneta apologized to her fans for being complacent and "letting herself become fat," which she said negatively affected her career and her behavior towards her peers.

"I was going through a mid-life crisis, the effects of which I could never have foreseen. My reaction to it was awful; I became rebellious because I hated myself for the way I looked and the time I continued to waste by not focusing and working on bettering my own person.

"And each time I rebelled, often offending other people by being inconsiderate of their time and all else that I used to respect in and about them, I just felt worse and worse about myself. I was not 'me.' I hit mid-life and didn't know how to deal with it. I was lost. And then when I got used to it, I saw what had changed around me," Cuneta said.

* Noting that losing weight takes time, Concepcion said her mother not only has her support, but also of their family, fans, and colleagues.

Among those who have openly encouraged Cuneta is actress Judy Ann Santos, her co-star in the 2002 drama film "Magkapatid" and also Concepcion's onscreen rival in the 2013 primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala."

"Her struggle to get back in shape is a long process, hindi naman gano'n kadaling magpapayat, to be honest," Concepcion said.

"I am very thankful that Ate Juday has always been there for my mom," she added. "Sincere siya sa friendships niya and she's part of our family. Like Ate Juday, me, our family, friends, her loyal fans are all behind her 100%. Kaya niya yan!"

I became complacent... and I never lost faith in God, and in you, but I ignored the fact that I had lost faith in myself. It was I who let myself become affected by the fact that I had turned forty, not my public.”

* Sharon became controversial on Twitter as she used to fight with her bashers. She said that she regrets it and that she should have chose her battles well.

“I cannot apologize for the person I am. I am transparent. I cry when I'm sad, I laugh uncontrollably when I'm happy, I am frank and say what I think when any part of my person or property is violated. I was very matiisin for many, many years, and lots of people took advantage of that. So very many. So I learned to stand up for myself. Twitter was one of the few places that provoked me to show that side of me, but make no mistake about it—I am a fighter. I am not a doormat. And like every other human being, I deserve respect, especially because I know I am not a bad person. My mistake was I should've picked my battles like I always used to. I was shocked and unprepared, and so I was wrong to react the way I often did,” she stated.

Sharon said that she feels like she is at the lowest point of her life and career right now. “Like I said, I have nothing to lose now... I am going through one of the lowest times of my life and career, and it is to a great extent by my own doing. But I also HAVE bumped into certain people who made this journey much more difficult, too. Nevertheless, I humble myself and still praise God for everything He has ever blessed me and my loved ones with. I thank God for people who love me, like you,” she said.

She also admitted that she has no idea what is next for her but she will strive to get back on track. “I have no idea where life is about to take me now. All I know is that I will live the best life I can, with the same mission statement: to inspire and encourage, to show that in this crazy world, there are still a few of us you can count on to be real. To show that you fall every once in a while, but you get up. You must. It is our obligation to do so. I know it is my obligation to do so. Not just for me, but for all of you.”
