In a more recent post, Nievera clarified that his post wasn’t meant referring to the concert producers.

“Hey everyone remember what I posted regarding that June 15 fundraiser? Just to let you know I was not referring to anyone in the production. Nor was I referring to the producers. BB Gandanghari and John Lapus combine “Beauty and Sweet” in live comedy musical show by Abby Mendoza posted on July 5, 2013 STATS: 5785 Views | 2

“Ang totoo, kaya inisip namin gumawa [ng show] together kasi every time na magkasama kami, nakakatawa kaming dalawa,” tells BB Gandanghari at the press conference of his upcoming comedy musical show—his first live comedy act—with longtime friend, John “Sweet” Lapus.

The two artists promise to combine their theatre and movie acting experience with laugh-out-loud repartees in Beauty and the Sweet on August 2 and 3 (Friday and Saturday) 8PM, at the Music Museum, Greenhills.

Prior to coming to his noon press conference, John “Sweet” Lapus made an effort to have his makeup done and his hair curled.

“I would like to apologize for coming in late,” the award-winning actor/comedian told the group of entertainment writers later when he arrived at the Bellissimo restaurant along Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

“Kaya po ako late dahil nagpaayos po ako sa bahay. Nagpakulot po ako ng buhok, nagpa-dark makeup ako,” he explained, sitting next to his good friend, BB Gandanghari who looks fresh in barely-there makeup and a chicly tousled hairstyle.

Sweet, amused and annoyed by BB’s subtle but glamorous look, went on to say, “Pagdating ko ganito lang itsura [niya], ginulo lang yung buhok, nag-powder lang.

“Di ba naman nakakapikon?”

Hearty laughter followed.

“Palaging ganyan kami! Ino-okray ko siya tapos kino-correct niya yung English ko!” Sweet uttered, delivering the punchline of the afternoon.

Candid, light, and laugh-out-loud, Sweet and BB’s first collaboration in a live comedy act will run much like the scene that just played out at the press conference. Beauty and the Sweet, a DSL Events and Production House Inc. project, however, will include dance and song numbers as well as hilarious repartees between the transgender actress BB and the actor/comedian Sweet.

Will they follow a script?

Sweet revealed at the June 27 press conference, “Meron. Di puwedeng wala!

“Alam mo naman, stand-up comedians get in trouble because they rely on their spontaneity.”

“Dapat ‘spon-te-na-e-i-ty!’” BB corrected Sweet later, which prompted another round of laughter.

“So, ang ending nitong [show], pag napikon ako, itutumba ko na ‘to!” Sweet joked.

“But seriously, meron naman kaming rapport [the fact] siguro na we’re friends even before… life—”

“—My [life] before and after!” interrupted BB, who of course pertained to his life as Rustom Padilla prior to her coming out.

Sunshine says she is willing to stay friends with estranged husband Cesar Montano, but the actor, it seems, isn't interested

MANILA, Philippines – After separating in 2013, actress Sunshine Cruz has filed an annulment of her marriage to actor Cesar Montano.

Speaking to Kris Aquino on Kris TV on Monday, May 12, Sunshine said she filed the papers before the Holy Week.

“Para naman bago ako mag-40 makahanap ako ng kaligayahan ko,” said the 36-year-old actress. (So that, before I turn 40, I can find happiness.)

She also expressed her disappointment that Cesar had not been regularly visiting their children.

"Mayroon siya everyday visitorial rights. Ang problema nga, nakakatatlong visits pa lang siya sa mga bata, tatlo o apat magmula nang nangyari 'yung full custody sa akin last year December yata," she said.

(He has everyday visitorial rights. The problem is, he has only visited the kids 3 or 4 times since I got full custody of them last December.)

She said Cesar had not provided them with financial support despite the court’s order for him to pay the cost of the kids' education and their house rent.

Sunshine, however, always reminded her daughters to see and love their father despite their separation.

“I always tell the kids to message him every day. Sabi ko, 'yun lang ang order ko sa inyo (I tell them that's the only order I'm giving you) – to always say hello to dad and that you love him. Kasi siyempre gusto ko na malaman niya at ma-remind siya may tatlo siyang anak sa akin (Of course I want him to know [they love him] and to remind him that he has 3 children with me)," she said.

Despite her decision to move on from her failed marriage, Sunshine said that she is willing to be friends with her ex-husband.

"Sinasabi ko nga, any time naman ready ako makipag-friends sa kanya eh. Hindi ko alam bakit ayaw [niya]. Kahit magkokontak sa secretary niya, 'di nakikipag-coordinate ang secretary when it comes to kids, abogado-to-abogado na lang daw," Cruz said.

(I've always said that any time I am ready to be friends with him. I don’t know why he doesn't want that. Even when I contact his secretary on behalf of the kids, the secretary doesn't coordinate. He just wants us to communicate through the lawyers.)

"Basta I'm hoping and praying, even the kids naman, basta ang gusto lang nila ay maging happy ako. Gusto nila mag-date ako. Sabi ko, 'We are not in a hurry, anak. Madami pa tayong dapat ayusin,'" she added.

(The kids just want me to be happy, they want me to go on dates. I tell them, 'I am not in a hurry. W have a lot of things to fix first.)

Sunshine and Cesar separated after the actress claimed that he was having an affair with starlet Krista Miller. The two have denied the allegations.

Krista Miller FILE PHOTO

MANILA, Philippines—More than a year after starlet Krista Miller was tagged as the woman behind the separation of actors Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz, she finds herself linked in another controversy.

Miller was the “starlet” who visited convicted drug lord Ricardo “Chacha” Camata in a hospital outside New Bilibid Prison (NBP), Department of Justice (DOJ) undersecretary Francisco Baraan confirmed to INQUIRER.net.

INQUIRER.net earlier reported that Camata, commander of the notorious Sigue Sigue Sputnik Gang, brought in a “starlet and TV dancers” inside his hospital room at Metropolitan Medical Center in Manila where he was rushed last May 28 due to a lung ailment.

Baraan said that a jail guard had told him about the special treatment given to Camata.

“Camata himself identified the starlet as Krista Miller,” Baraan said in a phone interview.

Baraan said the convict met Miller inside prison during Bilibid’s Flower Festival event in May 2014, where the starlet was invited as guest.

Camata’s hospitalization and other supposed perks drew the attention of the DOJ, prompting the agency to investigate NBP officials and custodial guards.

Based on the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footages, Baraan said Miller and two female television dancers visited Camata, whom Baraan claimed to be far from looking sick necessitating hospitalization.

“The video cannot lie. Malakas siya (Camata),” he said.

On Wednesday, the DOJ ordered the administrative relief of NBP Superintendent Fajardo Lansangan and 12 jail guards who secured Camata’s ward.

Baraan said the DOJ gave 24 hours to Lansangan and the attending physicians of Camata to give a written explanation.

“We asked them to justify the finding that it was an emergency case needing an immediate hospitalization outside Bilibid,” he said.

Baraan said he expects the report to reach his office on Friday.

Replacing Lansangan as NBP head is Superintendent Robert Rabo.

Miller is no stranger to controversy. In 2013, Cruz and Montano separated after being married for 13 years. Cruz blamed Miller as one of the reasons for the end of their marriage, accusing her of having an affair with her husband.

Miller, who met Montano while filming a movie, denied being Montano’s mistress.
