MANILA, APRIL 1, 2013 (ABS-CBN) Re-electionist Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero lost his previous comfortable second place in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Re-electionist Senator Alan Peter Cayetano rose to second, while re-electionist Senator Loren Legarda would have won the top spot had the elections been done today.

The report officially came out in BusinessWorld today.

Escudero, who recently hogged national headlines due to his love life, is now at the third and fourth places with San Juan City Rep. Joseph Victor Ejercito.

The survey, however, was done between March 15 and 17. Actress Heart Evangelista’s parents came out last week, telling their daughter’s boyfriend – Escudero – to leave her alone. They hit Escudero for allegedly being an alcoholic and a braggart.

Ejercito, meanwhile, is a big gainer in this latest survey. He was at the ninth to tenth places in the February survey.

Another gainer is Nancy Binay, Vice President Jejomar Binay’s daughter, who stepped up to the fifth to seventh spots from the seventh spot in February. She is sharing the fifth to seventh places with Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar and re-electionist Senator Aquilino Pimentel III.

The biggest gainer, however, is re-electionist Senator Gregorio Honasan, who has entered the magic 12 at the ninth spot from his previous 15th finish.

Former Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, instead, slid to 15th from his previous 11th to 12th finish.

The complete results are:

1. Loren Legarda – 59% from 64%

2. Alan Cayetano – 57% from 58%

3 to 4. JV Ejercito – 48% from 42%

3 to 4. Chiz Escudero – 48% from 62%

5 to 7. Nancy Binay – 47% from 47%

5 to 7. Cynthia Villar 47% from 53%

5 to 7. Koko Pimentel – 47% from 48%

8. Sonny Trillanes – 44% from 46%

9. Gringo Honasan – 43% from 34%

10. Bam Aquino – 42% from 42%

11. Grace Poe – 40% from 48%

12. Sonny Angara – 39% from 39%

Chiz to heed Miriam's tip on wooing Heart's parents ABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 03/26/2013 4:08 PM | Updated as of 03/26/2013 4:08 PM

MANILA - Sen. Francis Escudero on Tuesday said he is looking for a place to gain strength this Holy Week as he faces twin storms in his re-election bid and his love life.

Escudero is now tied at 3th-4th place in the latest Social Weather Stations pre-election survey after ranking 2nd in the previous surveys.

Escudero recently grabbed headlines after Rey and Cecile Ongpauco, the parents of his girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista, accused him of being a braggart and a drunk.

The Ongpaucos also urged the senator to leave Heart alone, saying that their 28-year-old daughter is too young for the 43-year-old Escudero.

In a DZMM report, Escudero said he believes there is someone who is behind the demolition job against him, and that some trapos (traditional politicians) are taking advantage of the situation.

He said he has already tapped someone to act as a go-between for him and the Ongpaucos.

He said he is also heeding the advice of Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago to win the hearts of Evangelista's parents.

He said he does not want Heart to be forced to choose between him and her own parents. -- Report by Ruby Tayag, radio dzMM
