MANILA, OCTOBER 15, 2012 (PHILSTAR) By Bayani San Diego Jr. - Actor-politician Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. turned 46 in high style with a party that gathered revelers from the worlds of show biz, politics and even sports.

The bash was held on the eve of his actual birthday (September 25) at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.

World boxing champ Manny Pacquiao led the well-wishers, who included basketball legends Robert Jaworksi Sr. and Atoy Co.

Also present were Revilla’s political colleagues—Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile, Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former senators Richard Gordon, Ernesto Maceda and Juan Miguel Zubiri, former Speaker Joe de Venecia and Representative JV Ejercito.

Show biz was represented by Regal producer Lily Monteverde, Mowelfund head Boots Anson-Roa, MTRCB chief Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Solar boss Wilson Tieng, GMA execs Marivin Arayata and Redgie Magno, Tape Inc.’s Tony Tuviera and Malou Choa-Fagar, actors Phillip Salvador, Lorna Tolentino, Laurice Guillen, Rhian Ramos, Sam Pinto, Rez Cortez, Eddie Gutierrez, Alvin Anson, Joko Diaz, Ian Veneracion, Bayani Agbayani, Efren Reyes Jr., Tirso Cruz III, King Gutierrez, hosts Mon Tulfo and Raffy Tulfo and talent managers Girlie Rodis and Ethel Ramos, among others.

Rep. Lani Mercado, Sen. Bong’s wife, welcomed guests, along with his children and siblings. But as far as the birthday boy was concerned, the biggest VIP guest was his father, former Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr.

“My dad was on the verge of tears…happy to be reunited with old friends from the Senate,” Bong said.

Mercado performed two disco tunes, “Last Dance” and “I Will Survive.” In turn, Bong serenaded his wife with the ballads “She” and “The Way You Look Tonight.”

As the celebration promised to go on until the wee hours, Revilla announced: “No one is allowed to go home sober. Let’s all have fun.”

His guests were only too happy to comply.
