KRIS ON JAMES 'NEW ROMANCE' RUMORS: I'M NOT INTERESTED

MANILA, AUGUST 7,
2012 (ABS-CBN)
Queen of All Media Kris Aquino said she does not care if her ex-husband, star cager James Yap, has found a new romance.

Aquino made the statement on her morning show, “Kris TV,” while discussing the results of a research which showed that nine out of ten women use Facebook to monitor their exes and their new partners.

She said she is part of the smaller percentage of women who do not care what is happening to their former flames.

“Hindi ako nagfa-Facebook, kahit ‘yung Instagram account ni James hindi ako nakikialam talaga. So kasama ako doon sa 1% kasi when it’s over, it’s over. Move on, no angst. So hindi talaga, honestly,” she said.

Aside from not checking on Yap through his Facebook and Instagram pages, Aquino said she has also stopped listening to people who keep on updating her about her ex-husband.

“Hindi rin ako nagtatanong, it’s none of my business anymore. Hindi rin ako curious talaga. Masama ba ‘yon na hindi ako curious? Kasi ang daldal ko and may talk show ako, hindi ba? Baka kung ano ang masabi ko.

“So [kung may magsasabi] I say, ‘I don’t want to listen, I’m not interested.’ Gumaganoon talaga ako, swear. Ewan ko kung maganda ‘yon o masama. Pero sa akin talaga, kapag past, hindi ko binabalik-balikan, parang okay na ako,” she explained.

The annulment of Aquino and Yap’s five-year marriage was announced last February.

MANILA, Philippines – (2nd UPDATE) Actress-television host Kris Aquino on Sunday said she is giving up on her 5-year marriage to Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) superstar James Yap.

“Matagal naming sinubukan. James and I really tried to make this work. On my part, with... finality, I can say ako ay sumuko na,” she said on “The Buzz.”

Aquino said it was not a “spur of the moment” decision.

"Kung anuman ang dahilan why this marriage, on my part, I'm saying it's over, the only person I will owe an explanation to and the only person who can demand from me, 'Bakit kayo naghiwalay?,' is my son," she added.

When sought for a reaction by ABS-CBN News, Yap refused to comment on the issue. But he admitted that he has not talked to Aquino and has not yet seen the kids—their son, Baby James, and Aquino’s son from actor Phillip Salvador, Josh.

He also said that he has talked to some Aquino family members who still hoped that he and Kris will kiss and make up.

Earlier on Sunday, Yap was at a PBA storytelling activity with 30 children from the House of Refuge orphanage. He confirmed during the event that he would attend the inauguration of Aquino’s brother, President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III on Wednesday. He even said he would wear a barong Tagalog.

But he refused to comment on the issue involving him and Kris. It is now yet known if Yap will show up at the inauguration after Aquino’s announcement on the Buzz Sunday afternoon.

For Baby James’ sake

Aquino, who moved out of their home last week, refused to reveal the reason behind their separation. She said she is keeping quiet for the sake of Baby James, their 3-year-old son.

“The worst thing I can do for Baby James is, when he's 7 or 8 years old, and mahanap niya sa YouTube ‘yong explanation kung bakit naghiwalay ang nanay at tatay niya. He deserves much more than that. He deserves to hear it only from me and only from James. Because in any separation, there are 2 sides to the story. And we owe it to him, James will owe it to him, that I will owe it to him to explain to him,” she said.

She added that Baby James will love, respect and value her more if she keeps the matter private.

Last week, Aquino’s close friend, TV host Boy Abunda, announced that the high-profile couple was going through a difficult time.

On June 16, Aquino first admitted in public through her Twitter page that she and Yap, B-Meg Derby Ace’s (formerly Purefoods) star player, had a “big misunderstanding.”

Stress and long hours spent during her brother's election campaign period took a toll on their relationship, said Kris, the lead star of ABS-CBN primetime soap opera “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo."

Almost 5-year marriage

She said that although both she and Yap are public figures, apart from God, they are only ones answerable to their son.

“The world can judge me. I just want my son to be able to respect me and respect his father….To a certain extent, of course, it will affect Josh, but it's really Baby James who will really be affected,” she said.

Aquino, who is 11 years older than Yap, married the professional basketball player on July 10, 2005.

This is not the first controversy to hound Kris and Yap’s almost 5-year marriage.

Kris made headlines early this year when she allegedly confronted a woman rumored to be Yap’s girlfriend. The incident had forced Kris to move out of their home, only to return days later.

In 2007, they went through a rough patch after Yap was rumored to have had a romantic affair with Hope Centeno, one of the receptionists at the Belo Medical Clinic.

In both instances, Yap denied the speculations.

RUMOR IS Isabel Oli in the photo. Isabel oli is a cute Filipina model-actress.

Kris Aquino OK with Isabel Oli for James Yap

MANILA BULLETIN NEWS By ALEX VALENTIN BROSAS March 7, 2011, 8:48am - TV host Kris Aquino is seemingly unaffected by rumors about her ex-husband James Yap dating model-actress Isabel Oli.

John Lapus, a known friend of Kris, related on “Showbiz Central” that Kris is actually all for Isabel.

“Ay gustung-gusto na. ‘Yun ang birthday wish ni Kris kay James, na maging malaya,” Lapus said on “SC” March 6.

It's not the first time the issue about Oli and Yap being an item surfaced. Before,Yap would dismiss such talk as baseless, insisting that he just ran into her in a mall.

“'Hi!... hello' (lang kami) kasi magkakilala naman kami. Nagulat na lang ako bigla na lang mayroon ganoong tsismis. At may kasama siya noon. Bakit naman ako natsismis nu’n?” Yap said.

However, in his recent interview during the awarding for sports heroes, Yap refused to talk about Oli.

“Nasagot ko na ‘yan. Okay na,” the basketball player said when asked about the actress.

Even Oli is mum on the issue. “Zero pa rin,” was her reply when asked for the status of her love life.

And when asked about Yap, she curtly replied, “Hindi pa ako ready.”

Meanwhile, Lapus shared an anecdote that hinted at whether Oli and Yap are an item or not.

“Noong birthday dinner ni Kris, kaming dalawa lang ni James and some friends of ours ang in-invite niya... tinatanong ko si James. 'James, may bago ka na bang girlfriend?' So, itong si Kris, alam mo naman, tinawag si Bimby. 'Bimby come. Sino ang bagong girlfriend ni Papa?' Si Bimby, 'Tita Isabel' ang sinagot. "Sabi ni Kris, 'Ayan, hindi na sa akin galing, sa anak mo na. Ha! Ha! Ha!'” shared Lapus.

Does he believe something romantic is going on between Oli and Yap?

He looks inspired and happy. And even Isabel Oli, she looks maganda now.
