Perhaps for good luck, Manny Pacquiao gave out a house and lot to a lucky contestant from the audience during the launch of his GMA show, Manny Many Prizes, last Saturday at the AFP Theater.

The show’s first big winner Dito “Jun” Roldan of Payatas, Quezon City, who was joined by wife Myrna, nearly collapsed onstage when told he was still getting the prize despite not making it to the jackpot round.

And yes, it rained money on that day, what with the big amounts given away to winners in the various games on the show co-hosted by Paolo Contis, Rhian Ramos, Isabelle Daza, Onyok Velasco and Gladys Guevarra.

Some of the game segments are Baranggay vs Baranggay, which solicits nominations for model residents who are deserving of the show’s big prizes, and the lottery-like segment Manny’s Pick.

Drawn by the promise of instant wealth, people from far and wide, mostly from the depressed areas, started lining up in front of the theater as early as the day before.

The game show will be rolling into different cities and provinces in the country, said the pound-for-pound king and now Saranggani congressman.

It is Manny’s first time hosting a game show, which he is actually co-producing with the Kapuso network.

The live pilot episode also had Glaiza de Castro, La Diva, Ely Buendia and the Kapuso artists who landed in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women list, led by Sam Pinto, as guests.
