JINKEE, KRISTA FACE OFF
MANILA, NOVEMBER 14, 2009 (MALAYA) DREAM FACTORY By Mario Bautista ‘Will sparks fly when Jinkee and Krista face each other in L.A.?’ Jinkee Pacquiao left last Monday for L.A. to support her husband Manny’s fight against Cotto on November 14. But even before she left, the new actress being linked to Manny, Krista Ranillo, had left three days ahead of her, also for L.A.
"Inunahan pa yung tunay na misis," quips one naughty writer.
Will sparks fly when Jinkee and Krista face each other in L.A.?
"Hindi siguro," someone who belongs to Manny’s group of sycophants tells us. "Di na pumapatol si Jinkee sa ganyang mga chismis. Alam niyang nang umalis si Krista, kasama ang amang si Mat Ranillo III na ang talagang goal, mapalapit kay Manny para matulungan siya pag kumandidato rin siya sa Mindanao sa darating na halalan."

Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann guested live in "Showbiz Central" last Sunday to plug their forthcoming stint in "SRO" that starts this coming Thursday night to replace "Moshi-Moshi" of Rufa Mae Quinto. Entitled "Carinderia Queen," this is an out and out comedy that is in direct contrast to their sudsy soap drama, "Rosalinda."
"One thing that makes it different is that we co-star with our own parents," says Carla. "Kasama ko rito ang dad kong si Rey PJ Abellana and I really look forward to working with him."
"Kasama ko naman ang mom ko, Gina Alajar," says Geoff. "So we’re one big happy family on the set."
What can Carla say about allegations that she didn’t really break up with cager JC Intal as their photos showing that they’re still being sweet to each other were just circulated on the net?
"Those fotos were taken when we were still together in college," says Carla. "Ewan ko kung bakit ngayon lang naglalabasan. They can ask JC himself kasi nagalit nga siya when he was accused as the one who posted them on the net dahil nananahimik na raw siya, iniintriga pa. Hindi rin si Geoff ang dahilan ng breakup namin but my career. I thought mapagsasabay ko, but my career needs full attention and concentration."
Carla is confident that the last few weeks of "Rosalinda" will score higher in the ratings as each episode will be exciting and suspenseful. "Abangan nila kasi maraming action scenes where some characters will die, but of course, I can’t say who para ma-thrill naman sila. After Katrina Halili as Fedra kidnapped our daughter Erica, marami talagang exciting twists and turns pa lalo na when Jackie Lou Blanco, the real mom of Fernando Jose appears."

Jolina Magdangal is now more open about her relationship with RiverMaya drummer Mark Escueta, the ex of Danica Sotto. She admitted in "Showbiz Central" that he helped her move on after her failed relationship with a lawyer who allegedly got hitched to another girl recently. Film clips of Mark’s guesting in "SOP" earlier were shown and they even did a number together, with Mark singing to her. They then said "I love you" to each other.
"He’s so tahimik lang so what he did in ‘SOP’ para lang mapasaya ako is really sobrang effort on his part," adds Jolens.

The La Diva trio of Maricris Garcia, Aicelle Santos and Jonalyn Viray are leaving this Thursday to sing the Philippine National Anthem at the fight of Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto. "We’re really excited kaya panay ang practice namin to give a unique rendition of ‘Lupang Hinirang’ in three voices," says Aicelle.
"We’re thankful to Kuya Manny for choosing us to sing sa bagong title fight niya," adds Maricris. "It’s really an honor."
Before they left, they completed recording their debut album as "La Diva" for SonyBMG Records and they also shot the music video of their first single directed by Louie Ignacio of "SOP," GMA-7’s noontime show that will have a revamp with the amiable Rams David as the new producer replacing Perry Lansigan. We heard some cast members are now nervous as some of them might be replaced in the show.

First "Pinoy Dream Academy" champ Yeng Constantino has just released her third album, "Lapit." "I wrote all the songs in the album, with my idol, former E-head and now Sandwich vocalist Raymund Marasigan as my producer," says the country’s Rock Princess. "I’m a big fan of his and I personally asked him to produce the album. He taught me how to have fun while still being serious on my career. Natatahimik talaga ako when he talks kasi ang gaganda ng ideas niya."
Why is her album titled "Lapit?"
"For various reasons. This is one album na feeling ko, talagang malapit sa akin, sa puso ko. Very personal sa akin itong album, especially the lyrics of the songs. Also, malapit na malapit sa akin ngayon ang fans ko as I wrote a song especially for them, ‘Pag Ayaw Mo Na.’ Malapit din ako ngayon kay Lord as I have a more personal relationship with Him. I’m also closer to achieving all my dreams. Isa-isa na silang lumalapit sa akin."
The carrier single is also titled "Lapit." The other cuts are "Wag Kang Magtatanong," "Jeepney Love Story," "Siguro," "Takas," "Maghihintay," "Wag Na," "Akin Ka Na" and "Siguro." We won’t be surprised if she’d come up with another hit like her award-winning "Hawak Kamay" and "Salamat." Newcomer JAY-L Dizon has no qualms when it comes to baring his body and he does this in "I Luv Dreamguyz" where he plays the lead role of Jake, a tragic character who discovers that he’s bisexual and has love scenes with both Nina Jose and Marco Morales. "When I took the audition for Direk Joel Lamangan, I was informed that I will have to disrobe and do bedscenes with both a man and a woman," he says. "Fifteen pa lang ako, I already tried getting into showbiz by joining the star searches on GMA-7 and ABS but I didn’t make it as I was too young. Now that I’m 20, I think I’m ready to do even mature daring roles. This is a good break for me and the role of Jake is so demanding, how can I refuse it lalo na nga’t I get the chance to be directed by a top director like Joel Lamangan? Happy naman ako as my performance got positive feedback from those who’ve seen the film now showing in various theaters. They say I got a good future ahead in showbiz after this."
