ERAP  HASN'T  LOST  HIS  TOUCH

NOW it can be told that it’s really not over yet between Kaye Abad and her boyfriend of more than five years, Parokya ni Edgar soloist Chito Miranda.

That’s why they are still seen together, said Kaye.

What’s new about their relationship now, however, is that her world no longer just revolves around Chito. Unlike in the last five years when she was like a Chito’s shadow.

In short, where Chito was, there was she (Kaye).

No wonder that Kaye is now busy with her showbiz career anew. After her comeback appearance in the series, "Precious Hearts Presents… Bud Brothers," where she was paired with newcomer Guji Lorenzana, the two are again seen in the ongoing series, "Somewhere in My Life."

In next year’s episode of the drama anthology, "Maalaala Mo Kaya," Kaye will be featured with Diether Ocampo.

This will be the first time the Star Magic talents will be seen together in a TV show.

Kaye started with the show, "Tabing Ilog," an afternoon series featuring several other Star Magic talents. The series gave birth to several love teams, like that of Kaye and John Lloyd Cruz.

Both still teenagers then, they eventually fell in love.

They, however, outgrew each other when Kaye turned 18.

President Joseph Estrada’s having children with different women is an open book. That he has several families, too, he doesn’t deny.

At the presscon of his comeback movie, his first after 20 year of absence on the big screen, "Ang Tanging Pamilya," he was asked whom he considers his tanging pamilya, his gentle reply was: "Sa maraming babaing aking minahal, iisa lang ang aking pinakasalan.

"Siya at ang mga anak ko ang itinuturing kong tanging pamilya."

It’s as a father that he feels most proud, according to President Erap. None of his kids, according to him, has given him problems. His older children are all college graduates and the younger ones are all in school.

He does not consider himself a strict dad. He is not the type of dad who uses the rod to discipline his children. But they all know how to toe the line.

For this, he said he credits his children’s mothers. They are responsible, too.

"At mababait din sila," he added. Kidding, he added. "Ang pagkakamali lang nila, minahal nila ako. Na sinuklian ko rin ng pagmamahal."

In "Ang Tanging Pamilya," President Erap is the father of several children. Ai Ai de las Alas is his wife.

Their eldest daughter, played by Toni Gonzaga, is getting married to her US-based boyfriend, played by Sam Milby.

"Kaya tipikal na ama ako dito, who is never convinced that his daughter is old enough to get married and any man is good enough for her.

"Magka-clash kami ni Ai Ai, since she is excited about Toni’s wedding. And for another reason.

"She wants me to marry her again as my 25th anniversary gift to her.

"Kaya she envisions a double wedding for her and Toni," President Erap related.

Ai Ai says "Ang Tanging Pamilya" is a riot from beginning to end. Thanks to President Erap, whom Ai Ai says has not lost his touch as a comedian.

"’Ang Tanging Pamilya’ is a perfect outlet para mawala pansamantala ang stress na caused ng mga nangyayari sa ating bansa," says President Erap.

For her part, Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao (mother of "Pambansang Kamao," Manny Pacquiao) said: "Natutuwa ako na pinili ako ni President Erap na makasama sa movie na ito.

"Sino ba ang mag-aakalang sa edad kong ito, magkaka-pelikula ako at makakasama ko sina President Erap, Ai Ai, Toni at Sam, na gaganap pa bilang anak ko?

"Ang suwerte ko. Tama si Manny. Sabi niya: ‘Sikat ka na Mang. Lalo ka pang sisikat dahil sa pelikula mo.’"

"Ang Tanging Ina" will have its premiere on Tuesday, November 10 at SM Megamall.
