CLAUDINE  MULLS  FUTURE  WITH  ABS-CBN

WHILE Gretchen Barretto has confirmed the report that she will soon start work on a series which ABS-CBN has prepared for her and her younger sister, Claudine, the latter was a little circumspect and said she is still giving it a thought.

She explained that her contract with the Star Magic, the discovery and talent arm of ABS-CBN and Star Cinema, ends this month.

While she is considering renewing her contract, she wants some provisions cleared thoroughly, as there are things as a talent she fears she might not be able to fulfill anymore.

"Iyon lang naman," she said. "Pagkatapos nito, saka ko i-a-announce na yes, ready na ako to do the series."

Claudine’s last series with ABS-CBN was "Iisa Pa Lamang," which also starred Gabby Concepcion, Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban and Susan Roces.

This probable series starring Gretchen and Claudine would mark their first appearance together on TV.

We doubt if reports are true that Maricar Reyes, who was involved in an infamous sex video which for a time was the talk of the town, is the third party in the much-talked about break-up of Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin.

We saw both of them at the Star Magic Ball and never did we notice Maricar and Luis come near or even talk to each other.

Luis came early. Immediately, he was lost in the crowd, as there were many movie stars, most of whom were his friends, around.

Maricar chose to stay put in her table, which included some TV executives and guests.

In her champagne-colored gown, she looked not only pretty and elegant; she was dignity personified. This is not surprising as she is not just a ramp and commercial model but also a doctor by profession.

We wonder if Maricar would stick to showbiz and for how long. Although she has proven her worth as an actress in her TV appearances, especially in the recently-concluded series, "Your Song Presents… Gaano Kita Kamahal?" Maricar should, perhaps, never forget that she is still a doctor by profession.

Jessa Zaragoza now reportedly is friendlier to Rachel Alejandro, unlike in the past the former seemed so insecure everytime they met.

As a result, Jessa would concoct malicious talks about Rachel, all because she has not obviously overcome the thought that once in her husband Dingdong’s life, he loved Rachel.

Remember when last year Rachel and Dingdong had a reunion concert at the Metro Bar? Everyone agreed that the chemistry between the two as a singing team has not waned. No wonder that the concert was extended, which caused Jessa to get jealous over Rachel again. Never mind if at that time Rachel’s romance with boyfriend Philip Palma was still going strong.

In no time, Jessa was blubbering on TV and in print about her alleged strong feeling that something was going on between Dingdong and Rachel.

Had not Rachel’s supporter come to her rescue not only denying but, in a way, mildly threatening to give Jessa a dose of her own medicine, Jessa would not have had shut her mouth.

Well, at the recent concert Rachel and Jessa had at the Skydome in North EDSA, with two other ‘90s singers, Geneva Cruz and Rosella Nava, most everyone noticed how extra sweet and friendly Jessa was to Rachel.

What gives? someone joked.

By the way, what’s this we heard that now that Rachel’s break-up with her boyfriend Philip Palma has been confirmed, reports have surfaced that a good-looking Spanish guy is going after her?

Wonder when Rachel will finally settle down.

Meanwhile, Rufa Mae Quinto has confirmed the report that she is getting married in May next year.

But unlike in the past when she would immediately announce not just the name but everything about the guy she loves, this time, she wants to keep secret even the identity of her fiancé.

Suffice to say that he is reportedly a politician.
