MANILA, JUNE 25,
2009 (MALAYA) STUDIO WHISPERS by ETHEL RAMOS (‘‘I see no reason why this “Mano Po” movie, starring Sharon, will not be a blockbuster as well. – Lily Monteverde’)

MOTHER Lily Monteverde said that Sharon Cuneta has accepted her offer for the Megastar to do a movie with her film firm, Regal Entertainment. She wants her to do the top role in a new episode of her successful movie series, "Mano Po," one of her probable entries in the coming Metro Manila Film Festival.

"The past five ‘Mano Po’ series were all blockbuster hits," said Mother Lily. "I see no reason why this ‘Mano Po’ movie, starring Sharon, will not be a blockbuster as well."

This movie, if ever, will be Sharon’s first movie with Regal Entertainment. Mother Lily said she has really long wanted Sharon to do a movie for her.

"She’s simply amazing," said Andeng Bautista-Ynares, the younger sister of Senator Bong Revilla and wife of incumbent Rizal Gov. Jun Jun Ynares, of her nearly two-year-old daughter, Cassandra. "Now that she can talk, we love talking to each other. But I make sure I don’t baby talk to her."

Last Father’s Day, Governor Jun Jun was amazed when Cass woke him with a kiss and greeted him "Happy Father’s Day."

"Hindi pa siya matatas magsalita," related Andeng. "Pero bawat sabihin niya is music to our ears.

"Ang nakakatuwa pa kay Cass, she’s a happy baby. Kaya tuwang tuwa sa kanya si Jun Jun. She’s truly a Daddy’s girl."

She and Governor Jun Jun are prepared to have another baby. "We want, at least, three more. Sana, another girl and then two boys."

Governor Jun Jun is the youngest and only boy in a brood of three. His parents are Ito and Rebecca Ynares, who are both former governors of Rizal.

Anne Curtis may have difficulty choosing between Derek Ramsey and Zanjoe Marudo, her leading men in the new ABS-CBN series, "The Wedding." In real life, however, she is loveless. And has no intention of looking for a new love.

Does this mean she’s still carrying the torch for Sam Milby?

"Sam and I will remain friends, even if there is not even a slim chance that we would reconcile," said Anne.

She brought home pasalubong for Sam from her trip to Europe. She was not around when he marked his 25th birthday last June 23.

"I heard excited siya sa mga pasalubong ko," related Anne.

"Sayang nga at na-delay ang dating ng iba kong luggage."

Derek and Zanjoe are in relationships; the former with Angelica Panganiban and the latter with Mariel Rodriguez.

Both are trying to keep their romance low-profile, of course with the cooperation of their girlfriends. Neither denies it if the press ask but they do not flaunt or have a public display of affection.

Did you know that Derek and Angelica have been sweethearts for nearly three years?

Zanjoe and Mariel are marking their second anniversary as sweethearts soon.

Remember Sarah Jane Abad, former child star who used to be a permanent fixture in most Lea Productions movies?

One of her most memorable films, if we remember right, was "Ano Ba Ang Kulay ng Diyos," with Edu Manzano, Gina Alajar and Gina’s estranged husband, Michael de Mesa.

In any case, in Yes’ current issue, several pages have been devoted to her, featuring her as a bride to Jay Contreras, popularly known as the frontman of the equally popular band Kamikazee.

Their wedding, solemnized at the St. Pancratius Church in the Manila Paco Park, took place last January.

Also featured during the wedding was their nearly two-year-old son, Kidlat Cale. The couple reportedly have been living-in for the past four years

Do you know that if Angel Locsin were not in showbiz, she would have been a nun, doctor or soldier?

She was much, much younger when she told a priest about her plan to enter the nunnery.

Naturally, the priest advised her to wait until she was older and seriously give the idea a thought.

Doctor she wanted to be. But her family simply could not afford to send her to medical school.

She was thinking that if she became an a eye specialist, she could help her dad with his eyesight.

Angel’s dad turned blind and has consulted many eye doctors. All of them agreed that nothing can be done about his sight.

But while her dad has accepted his fate, Angel refuses to give up hope.

Why she wanted to be a soldier is understandable. She wants to be of service to her country and her fellow Filipinos.
