ABS-CBN is so lucky they got KC Concepcion, who looks so stunning on screen as the host of her "Paris to Pinas" show last Sunday that ran for three hours. KC has a totally winning personality and her incandescent star quality is jumping out of the screen. She’s also a good host, delivering all her lines very clearly and convincingly in both Tagalog and English. She even sang and showed she has a good singing voice. She has all the makings of a really big star, not just because of her pedigree being the daughter of Sharon and Gabby, but because she’s really not only ravishingly beautiful but also very talented. She should make a movie first before a teleserye. And the sooner she does that, the better for her. We haven’t had a new movie queen for sometime and we’re sure her magnetic screen presence will help revive the local movie industry.

Marian Rivera says her suitors more than doubled after her sexy exposure in "Marimar." "I won’t deny it, enjoy ako with all the attention I’m now getting not only from the guys na gusto kong makilala but even from the fans of the show na natutuwa sa akin," she says. "But I have no time for boys right now. Araw-araw, trabaho lang ang kaharap ko. I tape three days a week for ‘Marimar’ and the rest of the week, I shoot for either ‘Bahay Kubo’ or ‘Desperadas’ of Regal, both directed by Joel Lamangan. I’m really thankful to Mother Lily for giving me the chance to work with my idol, Maricel Soriano, in ‘Bahay Kubo,’ and with Ruffa Gutierrez, Iza Calzado and Rufa Mae Quinto in ‘Desperadas’ where we play sisters na may kanya-kanyang kuwento. My first movie, ‘Pamahiin,’ was really with Regal. Nakakatuwa nga si Ate Maricel dahil nang makita niya ako, sabi niya sa’kin: ‘O, Marimar!’ Ako yung panganay sa mga inampon niyang anak in the movie and my name is Lily dahil Mother Lily herself is the source of the story used in this movie."

What can she say that some people think her rise to stardom is so fast? "That’s not really true kasi more than a year na ako in showbiz. I started sa soaps ng TAPE then GMA-7 got me to do supporting roles sa ‘Muli’ and ‘Super Twins’. So naghirap din naman po ako before ‘Marimar’ came to me."

What can she say about the belief of some people that she’s GMA’s "next big thing"?

"It’s scary kasi mataas ang expectations nila. I guess I’ll just have to do my best not to let them down. Pero marami pang ibang magagaling sa GMA at sila man, qualified din sa title na ‘the next big thing’."

Because of Marian’s good performance in "Marimar," we won’t be surprised if she’d also be assigned to do "Rosalinda," the other Thalia-starrer that GMA-7 has already bought from Televisa Mexico.

GMA-7’s "Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan" had a grand motorcade and show at the SM San Lazaro last Sunday and Raymond Gutierrez covered it live for "Showbiz Central." Thousands of people trooped to the mall, filling it to the rafters and you could see all floors were jam-packed with screaming fans.

"Zaido" started along with ABS-CBN’s "Lastikman" yesterday. What does Dennis Trillo think are their chances against the competition?

"I’m confident viewers will feel more curious about our show," says Dennis, who plays Gallian, the blue Zaido. "Kasi they’ve seen na our rival on the big screen at pinalalabas pa ngayon ang mga pelikulang ito sa TV. In our case, we’re based on the hit Japanese show, ‘Shaider,’ and I’m sure maiintriga ang mga tao na makita kung paano kami gumawa ng local version noon here in ‘Zaido.’ At definitely, mas bago ito for kid viewers na ngayon pa lang malalaman ang tungkol sa Galactic Force that started in ‘Shaider’ na matagal nang wala sa ere."

Their spandex-lycra costumes of Aljur Abrenica and Marky Cielo are so tight fitting that bulges on their front are inevitable. Does he feel conscious about it?

"Okay lang. It can’t be helped kasi hapit na hapit talaga kaya bumabakat. Noong una, nakaka-conscious kasi first time namin to wear something this tight. But after a while, we got used to it."

Is it true they put on some padding to make the protrusion more noticeable? "Sa akin, wala talaga. Kasi pag masyadong makapal, parang hindi na totoo at iba na ang dating. So, what you see is what you get. I guess, part yan ng attraction ng ‘Zaido.’ But more than that, mas magandang attraction ‘yung story, costumes at pagkakagawa sa kabuuan ng show."

"Showbiz Central" had a poll on who the guys with cutest butts are and Dennis was in the No. 8 spot. The others who made it to the list are: 10. Brian Termulo of "Pinoy Pop Superstar" 9. Camille Prats in L.A. was interviewed via phone patch and she says her tummy, now five months old, suddenly grew big and her pregnancy is now much more noticeable. She also reported that she just talked to Tanya Garcia who said she gave birth on September 16, Sunday, in a hospital in Las Vegas, where the family of the baby’s dad, ex-Gov. Mark Lapid, lives. The baby is a girl and weighed 6.4 lbs. Camille asked her if delivering the baby was painful and Tanya said: "Sobrang sakit ng labor, pero noong lagyan na ako ng epidural anesthesia, wala na kong naramdaman."

It’s not mentioned if Mark has already divorced his Korean wife who he married in the US and with whom he also has a daughter.

Pia Guanio interviewed Rochelle Barrameda about her missing sister, Ruby Rose, who suddenly disappeared in March. It’s been six months since she vanished into thin air and their family is in perpetual agony since then. The cops just can’t locate her. What’s sad is that some unscrupulous people are even trying to give them false hopes. One man said he knows Ruby’s whereabouts but his life is in danger so he asked for a gun. When he started asking for money, Rochelle reported him to the police and he was arrested. We’re praying that with the Lord’s help, Rochelle and her family will still be able to find her missing sister.

The special guest interviewed by the Central Jury was Annabelle Rama, but she was a letdown this time. When asked if it’s true that Richard Gutierrez has broken up with Georgina Wilson, her reply was: "Ask Richard about it." She also didn’t answer the Killer Question and decided to seal it, not reveal it, saying the women involved now have kids of their own "at nanahimik na." What Annabelle did is to thank all those who helped their "Rampa for a Cause" affair and to plug Richard’s new show "Kamandag," written by Carlo Caparas, and Carlo’s new komiks.

Jay Manalo was more amusing in the "Don’t Lie to Me" segment. Asked if he’s a womanizer and if he goes to the casino, he said yes and the Truth Verifier said he’s telling the truth. Next question is "8 ba ang anak mo sa ibang babae?" He said no and again, he’s telling the truth because he turned out to have 10 kids with six different women.

But when asked if he had a gay benefactor and he used to beat up Joyce Jimenez when they were on, he said no and the Truth Verifier said he was lying.
