MAXENE: APPLE OF THE EYE OF MOTHER LILY
MANILA, June 15, 2005 (MALAYA) STUDIO WHISPERS By Ethel Ramos - [The current apple of the eye of Lily Monteverde is Maxene Magalona, who is doing her third movie for Mother Lily’s Regal Entertainment.]
KRISTINE Hermosa and Diether Ocampo arrived hand in hand at the christening of Sabina, the adopted daughter of Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago, at the Plaza Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City.
It’s a few weeks after the report that Kristine confronted pretty starlet Pauleen Luna over talks that the latter was singing beautiful music with Diether. Diether, asked to comment on the Kristine-Pauleen issue, only smiled.
In any case, once Kristine and Diether were inside the venue, Diether kept himself busy taking photos of the guests, a number of whom were children of fellow celebrities. Kristine went from table to table, greeting her fellow stars.

It was the first time that Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gon-zales allowed their twins, Atasha and Andres, to attend a showbiz affair. The two enjoyed themselves to the hilt. Atasha’s favorites were the slide and carousel. Andres won several games and he shared his prizes with his Ate Atasha.
Aga and Charlene were seated with Aga’s mom, Anita Aquino, his sister, Arlene, who came with husband Warren and three-year-old daughter, Aliyah; friends Jojo Manlongat, Serafin Pua and Jobet Reyes, who came with girlfriend, Wona.
Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado brought their daughter, Jada. Lucy brought her daughter, Julianna. Rikka Dy-Lim, public relations director of Star Magic, had four-year-old Nikka, in tow.
The Santiago and Barretto clans came in full force. Most of Raymart and Claudine’s siblings brought their children with them. Only Gretchen Barretto was a no-show.
Claudine and Raymart, though, expect Gretchen, her partner, Tony Boy Cojuangco, and their daughter, Dominique, at their wedding on January 5, 2006.
ABS-CBN and Star Cinema top guns Charo Santos-Concio, Malou Santos and Olive Lamasan were present. Deo Edrinal, another bigwig at ABS-CBN, was also there.
Patrick Garcia, Carmi Martin, Bea Alonzo and Shaina Magdayao, Claudine’s co-stars in her new teleserye, "Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin," also came to the event.
The christening was officiated by Pastor Paulo Punzalan. Assisting him was Coney Reyes. Paulo is the son of the late radio and TV hosts Orly Punzalan and Helen Vela.
The current apple of the eye of Lily Monteverde is Maxene Magalona, who is doing her third movie for Mother Lily’s Regal Entertainment. Maxene is in "Happily Ever After," opposite John Prats for the first time.
John plays a hunchback in "Happily Ever After." The reason, said Maxene, is for the height difference them to not be too obvious.
Maxene’s two other recent movies with Regal Entertainment are "Kuya" and "Beautiful Life."
Maxene continues to study at the Ateneo de Manila University, even if she’s also busy with two TV shows, "Daddy Di Do Du" and "Saang Sulok ng Langit," both on GMA-7.
Maxene is the daughter of rapper Francis Magalona and the former Pia Arroyo. Her grandparents were movie greats, the late Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran.
Anne Curtis has not seen the film, "Kampanerang Kuba." She was given a copy on VHS but the tape malfunctioned.
She is the star of the new ABS-CBN teleserye, "Kampanerang Kuba." Among her co-stars is Luis Manzano, the son of Vilma Santos, the original kampanerang kuba, and Edu Manzano.
