BRO. EDDIE TURNS 'BANGON PILIPINAS' INTO NAT'L RENEWAL GROUP
MANILA, May 31, 2004 (BULLETIN) Bangon Pilipinas presidential candidate Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” Villanueva makes his first public appearance after the last May 10 elections before his supporters from Metro Manila tomorrow, Wednesday, June 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
Aside from thanking his supporters, Villanueva is expected to declare that now, Bangon Pilipinas will also be a “national renewal movement”.
Joining Villanueva on Wednesday are members of his family and leaders of Bangon Pilipinas National Renewal Movement.
“Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Bangon Pilipinas will also act and speak as a National Renewal Movement that will pursue reforms along multisectoral, interfaith, and national lines,” said lawyer Luis Sison, Bangon Pilipinas spokesman.
Sison said that Villanueva will also bare his views on the process approved and set to be implemented by the joint session of Congress acting as the national board of canvassers for the presidential and vice presidential polls.
“Bro. Eddie will speak on the initial results of ‘Operation Be Counted,’ especially the most horrendous acts that corrupted the electoral process,” said Sison. “As a national renewal movement, it would certainly be natural to expect that Bro. Eddie will gear Bangon Pilipinas to fight for drastic reforms in the electoral process.”
Sison added that the Wednesday event will prove to the public that Bangon Pilipinas stands solidly behind Villanueva, in spite of black propaganda.
