TEODORO: GMA MUST SUBMIT HERSELF TO PARTY CAUCUS IF ELECTED IN HOUSE

MANILA, MARCH 7, 2010 (STAR) By Jaime Laude - Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard-bearer Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said President Arroyo must submit to a party caucus in case she is elected congressman and aspires for the speakership.

President Arroyo is running for representative of Pampanga’s second district.

Teodoro said he intends to assert himself in enforcing party rules.

“If elected President and if we are the majority in the House, the House speakership should be a party consensus,” Teodoro told guests at the Manila Overseas Press Club’s 4th Presidential Forum Series in Makati City last Friday.

“For the good of the party, it would not be President Gibo but the Lakas-Kampi-CMD that will decide on the issue,” said Teodoro when asked what he would do in case the President seeks the House speakership.

As chairman of the party, Teodoro pointed out that each and every member of the party is governed by party rules.

President Arroyo is a member of Lakas-Kampi-CMD and used to be its chairman.

Teodoro also said he intends to enforce the one member, one vote scheme, the standard set by Lakas in reaching a consensus.

Teodoro also said that if elected, he would place the interest of the country above anything else.

“I have my oath to discharge as the President of the country,” Teodoro said.

Why Gibo’s ads haven’t been airing lately BY REGINA BENGCO - MALAYA BUSINESS INSIGHTS March 7, 2010

ADMINISTRATION presidential candidate Gilberto Teodoro Jr. yesterday said he I still in search of a political advertisement that would suit his personality, by way of explaining the absence of TV ads lately.

Reports quoting a group that is monitoring campaign ads and expenses for the May 10 polls showed Teodoro spending only P60,000 in advertisements since February 9, the start of the campaign period.

"Wala pa akong na-a-aprubahan na ads. I’m not satisfied with what has been given to me. Walang bumabagay sa akin," he said.

He said his last TV advertisement, which showed him flying a plane and urging voters to join him in the country’s take-off, is already familiar to the people in the streets.

But many PU buses carry his likeness.

On his running mate, Teodoro said Edu Manzano is still in the vice presidential race despite reported complaints of lack of funding.

Teodoro said he and Manzano were supposed to talk yesterday (Thursday) about the TV interview of Reli German, Manzano’s campaign manager, where he lamented that his client is not being given adequate funds.

‘’Lahat naman nagkukulang din,’’ he admitted, adding that he needs to clarify if German’s pronouncement had Manzano’s permission.

He said he and Manzano campaign separately most of the time, not because they are at odds, but to reach as many areas and sectors as possible. He said the six administration senatorial bets are also split into two teams.

Teodoro branded as "rumors" reports that his campaign is not well funded because President Arroyo’s real candidate is Nacionalista Party’s Manuel Villar Jr.
