NOYNOY, MAR W/ LOVED ONES ON VALENTINE'S DAY / GMA & FG PRIVATE DINNER
ILOILO, FEBRUARY 13, 2010 (STAR) By Delon Porcalla - Liberal Party standard-bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and his running mate Sen. Manuel Roxas II would take time off tomorrow from their hectic campaign schedule to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their respective sweethearts.
The LP bets, however, remained mum about the details of their Valentine’s dates.
Aquino, a 50-year-old bachelor, will be with his girlfriend, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, and Roxas with his wife, broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez.
Aquino told a news conference here that he has a date but refused to say where it would be, adding that he has very limited time to be with his girlfriend, so “hindi kayo imbitado (you’re not invited),” eliciting laughter from the crowd of LP supporters.
Roxas passed the microphone to Aquino when he was asked about his Valentine’s Day plans, claiming that newlyweds like him could claim secrecy, whereas those who are still in the courting stage could divulge more details, as the audience roared with laughter.
Feb. 14 is also the birthday of Aquino’s youngest sister Kris, a popular talk show host.
The LP sortie in this city was the second major campaign of the party after the kickoff rally in Aquino’s hometown of Concepcion, Tarlac, where he first officially declared his presidential bid.
LP senatorial candidates that included former Senate president Franklin Drilon, former Rep. Neric Acosta, Representatives Ruffy Biazon of Muntinlupa, Teofisto Guingona III of Bukidnon and Risa Hontiveros of party-list group Akbayan accompanied Aquino and Roxas on their Iloilo campaign.

Mrs. Arroyo told reporters that their dinner date would most likely be at the Prince Albert Rotisserie, a fine dining restaurant in the Hotel InterContinental Manila in Makati City.
“We usually go to Prince Albert. It’s a tradition on Valentine’s Day,” Mrs. Arroyo told Palace reporters after treating them to a pre-Valentine’s lunch along with members of the Pampanga media at Everybody’s Cafe in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Mr. Arroyo usually gives her two dozen roses, all of which are red except for one that is white.
Married since 1968, the First Couple met while they were in college.
They have three children – Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo, Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado Arroyo, and Evangeline Lourdes Arroyo-Bernas – and four grandchildren, Mikaela Gloria, Marie Angelique, Eva Victoria and Diosdado Luis Miguel.
The President treated reporters to exotic Pampanga dishes like fried frogs and “camaro” or marinated field crickets, fern salad with salted eggs and fried catfish.
