101st PCGA BOAT COMMISSIONING, OCTOBER 25 AT BAYWALK CENTER

The 101st Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), a voluntary organization with the mission to assist the Philippine Coast Guard promote safety of life and property at sea, safeguard the marine environment and such other humanitarian activities, will hold its first Boat Commissioning and Blessing at the Baywalk Center, Roxas Blvd., Manila on Saturday, October 25 at 8 a.m., with Mayor Jose L. Atienza as guest of honor, 101st Squadron Commander Capt. Romeo J. Herman said.
The commissioning involves 70 101st PCGA boats of the Manila Yacht Club (MYC) under Commodore Radm Ildefonso G. Tronqued. The event celebrates the 101st Squadron's 30th anniversary and the 75th MYC anniversary. Extending support are Philippine Coast Guard and PCGA officers led by Radm Reuben S. Lista and Manila Tourism Director Dino Noble.
Helping ensure the event's success are Radm Ildefonso G. Tronqued, In-charge of Special Projects, and officers of the 101st Squadron, namely, Capt. Amado V. Romillo - Deputy Squadron Commander, Capt. Noel A. Laman, Capt. Armando de
Rossi, Capt. Joseph Dy, Capt. Stanley Krug, Lt. Commander Noel Villanueva, Commander George Ballesteros, Lt. Commander Arthur S. Cecilio, Lt. Junior Grade Normie Alabado and Lt. Junior Grade Rassel Faustino.
The commissioning involves registering the floating assets of the 101st Squadron with the Philippine Coast Guard to ensure proper control and identity during emergency cases, either as savior or if it needs saving. On travels
further out of their areas of responsibility, from Batanes to Jolo, boat owners are assured of wider coverage of support from the Philippine Coast Guard since the boats sport PCGA pennant and seal with the necessary papers.
The Squadron Commander will award long service ribbons and promotions to deserving 101st CGAS members during lunch at the Manila Yacht Club.
