MANILA, OCTOBER 6, 2003  (MALAYA) Berman speaker in TRICON 3: Singapore Airlines supported the Department of Tourism's (DOT) 3rd Tourism-Related Industry Congress (TRICON 3) by providing a courtesy roundtrip ticket from Australia for its resource speaker, David Berman (above). Berman who is the director of the Israel Government Tourism Office for Australia, New Zealand and the South West Pacific and founding chair of the Eastern Mediterranean Tourism Association (Australia), was chosen to be this year's resource speaker because he is the author of "Restoring Tourism Destinations in Crisis," a book that provides relevant answers to major problems affecting the tourism industry based on his experiences running the Israel Tourism Office. HIGM brand launch

Holiday Inn Galleria Manila (HIGM) recently celebrated its grand brand launching to its top accounts and friends in a special cocktail party, dubbed, "Come for a Holiday." Simultaneous with the launch was the introduction of the hotel's 5 Hallmarks, Holiday Inn brand's global campaign to make the most of the qualities its guests already appreciate best.

InterCon employes' recognition

InterContinental Manila employees, headed by general manager Stefan W. Voogel, give their thumbs up for a job well done during their recent recognition program for staff members who were on duty during the July 27 attempted coup in Makati. Over a hundred employees were recognized for their exemplary courage, professionalism, and dedication to work shown during a time of crisis and threat to personal safety. They were also congratulated for giving priority to the safety and security of hotel guests as they were efficiently and immediately evacuated to a safer area.
