15-FOOT PYTHON AT NAIA RUNWAY

NAIA, Pasay City, May 30, 2003 -- Personnel at the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport yesterday removed an unusual intruder from one of its
runways a 15-foot-long python.

The snake was spotted by safety personnel as they were doing a routine
patrol of the runways to make sure there were no obstructions to planes,
Joseph Agustin, head of airport management, said.

To keep it from interfering with any aircraft, the three men used their
vehicle to corner the snake and after a struggle, captured it and placed it
inside a metal cage.

The snake was then turned over to the local parks and wildlife bureau,
airport personnel said.
