SUMMERFEST 2003: NEXT AT SUBIC, CLARK, PALAWAN

Manila, May 15, 2003
-- The country's biggest and longest summer event ,
which runs until May 31, made its first stopover in White Rock, Subic. It
has, since then, visited the resorts of Puerto Galera, Matabungkay, Bonuan
(Pangasinan), Bauang (La Union), Boracay and Cebu. The last leg of the tour
will be at the SBMA in Subic (May 22-23), Clark's Holiday Inn Resort (May
24-25) and Palawan (May 30-31).

Summerfest 2003 is a two-day, two-night affair of fun-filled activities
that would be held in 12 different resorts nationwide, zeroing in on
recreational choices for families, friends and the general public.

The organizers conceived of this project to highlight all the usual
activities the general public look forward to every summer: vacations and
tours, outings, leisure activities and hobbies like swimming, basketball,
wall climbing, wind surfing and a lot more. Artiste's Visions and Godspeed
Management, together with Sun Cellular, tied up with the Department of
Tourism (DoT), which found the event another medium of promoting its "WOW
Philippines" campaign.

Fun games, competitions and/or tournaments, as well as adventure games, are
all lined up with slight variations depending on the locale, depending on
the specific favorites and resources of a particular area (i.e., kayaking,
beach volleyball, sailing, obstacle race, treasure hunt, etc.).

Summerfest 2003 hopes to further promote local tourism as it aims to
provide vacation packages at affordable rates to families and students, and
to eventually promote it as a yearly event.

Summerfest also boasts of other special activities like the Mini Food Fair
Camp; Bazaar, Sand Castle Building Contest, the Miss Summerfest Bikini
Contest and the rave and beach concert party.

Summerfest will hold its culminating party on June 6 at the Maria Orosa
side of the Manila Pavilion Hotel. (By Earl D.C. Bracamonte, Tribune)
