IMEE, BATA TO PROMOTE LADIES' BILLIARDS

Manila, June 4, 2003 -- Billiards superstar Efren Bata Reyes and Ilocos
Norte Rep. Imee Marcos will join hands in a project that aims to encourage
more women to try billiards.

"Efren and I are now pakners," said Marcos, referring to the new movie of
the man internationally known as the billiards Magician. Reyes co-stars
with the King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr. in the film 'Pakners'
in which the two play billiards champions.

"We hope to bring billiards closer to the hearts of Filipino women, who I
believe can excel in this sport and bring honor to the country through
international tournaments," Marcos added.

Filipina pool players have actually started tomake their mark
internationally, and even won in some categaories in Singapore last year.
However, very few Philippine tournaments dedicate a part to women's
competitions.

Reyes offered to help train female cue artists. The 48-year-old champion
recently bagged the top prize in the Manila leg of the San Miguel Asian
9-Ball Tour.

Marcos has filed a resolution in the House of Representatives that honors
and recognizes Reyes and the honor he has brought to the country.
