TOP PINOY BETS IN SANMIG ASIAN BILLIARDS

Paranaque City, May 31, 2003 -- Rodolfo "Boy Samson" Luat faces a former
world champion from Chinese-Taipei as the five other Filipino bets are
expected to breeze past relatively lighter rivals when the San Miguel Asian
9-Ball Tour Manila leg blasts off today at the Pearl Plaza.

Luat got 1993 and 2000 world pool champion Chao Fong Pang as his first
round foe during yesterday's draw, in which compatriots Francisco "Django"
Bustamante, Efren "Bata" Reyes, Warren Kiamco, Antonio "Nikoy" Lining, and
Leonardo "Dodong" Andam drew unheralded opponents.

Bustamante, runner-up in the 2002 world pool championship, starts his bid
against Fung Kwok Wai of Hongkong while 1999 world titlist Reyes tackles
Eddie Ang Kee Tian of Singapore, and Kiamco, runner-up in the Singapore leg
of newly-organized Tour, battles Fredie Soh Chye Hian of Singapore.

Lining, Bustamante's partner in their Busan Asian Games 9-ball doubles
triumph, and Andam, another veteran internationalist, meets Malaysian
entries Ibrahim Bin Amir and Kuan Choon Yan, respectively.

A total of 32 players from 13 nations are competing in the two-day event,
which offers $150,000 in total prizes and ranking points that serves as
tickets to the World championship in July in Cardiff, Wales. (By Olmin
