WORLD POOL: ASIAN 9-BALL TOUR IN MANILA MAY 13

Manila, May 15, 2003 -- Thirty-two of the best pool players in Asia,
including eight ranked in the world's top 20, will see action in the Manila
leg of the San Miguel Asian 9-Ball Tour offering a total pot of $100,000 at
the Pearl Plaza on May 31-June 1.

The cast includes former world champions Efren "Bata" Reyes of the
Philippines and Fong Pang Chao of Taipei, world No. 3 Francisco Bustamante
and the winner of the last leg of the San Miguel Asian 9-Ball Tour in
Singapore, world No. 7 Yang Ching-Shun.

The stops on the San Miguel Asian 9-Ball Tour are the only tournaments in
Asia where participating players earn qualifying points toward the World
Professional Pool Championships in Cardiff in July. The top 10 players of
the Tour will directly qualify for the WPPC.

The Tour, which was originally scheduled to travel from Singapore to Ho Chi
Minh City, Hong Kong and Taipei before arriving in Manila, had to be scaled
back due to the SARS outbreak in Asia.

With three of the original stops being cancelled, the Manila leg will offer
double the prize money and double the ranking points. To ensure the health
and well-being of participants and spectators at the tournament, event
organizers ESPN STAR Sports will put in place precautionary medical
measures at the Manila leg.

Among the other players participating are 1992-93 World Youth Champion Hsia
Hui Kai of Taipei, Busan Asian Games 9-Ball singles gold medallist Yang
Ching Shun of Taipei and Busan Asian Games 9-Ball singles silver medallist
Warren Kiamco of the Philippines. (Malaya)
