MANILA, December 5, 2003 (MALAYA) By BARGE RAMOS - Why is there such a buzz surrounding the latest products in the make-up industry that have just landed in select beauty counters? For one, it's designed by one of the country's top face painters, Fanny Serrano. This latest vision of his, Fanny Serrano by F21 Cosmetics, aims to define the course of make-up artists for today's women.

It's a whole new make-up line which brings catwalk style within reach of every Filipino woman, allowing her to become her own make-up artist. Other cosmetic companies offer too much choices and too many gimmicks but of late, classic products have become the new trend.

"The color palette is a mix of the timeless, classic and adventurous, because every woman has her own personality," says Serrano. "With my make-up line, it will help enhance and define the natural beauty of each of these women."

Serrano adds that, "together with the marketing team of Fashion 21 Cosmetics, all products underwent a lot of research, starting with the basic ingredients, formulation, color selection, testing, packaging and pricing.

"All product ingredients include vitamin E, which conditions the skin and fights free radicals; vitamin A, which protects against free radicals; titanium dioxide, which acts as a natural sun filter to protect against UVA and UVB rays. My 100% involvement also extended to the personal training of our beauty consultants and freelance artists."

Your make-up bag deserves a serious re-think. With Fanny Serrano's cosmetic line, choosing your eye shadows, lipstick, blush-on, cake foundation, 2-way cake, concealer and make-up brushes becomes effortless. Serrano has finally done what he should have done for the Filipino woman years ago.

"How about a make-up line for men?" I asked him after his event launch at the Makati Shangri-La. He turned and I caught a twinkle in his eye. Mary Quant did it in the Sixties. Jean Paul Gaultier just recently did it, I added. Let's wait and see.
