SARSI EMMANUELLE JITTERY OVER COMEBACK
MANILA, December 6, 2003 (MALAYA) by ETHEL RAMOS - GUESS who is back in showbiz after a long while.
Answer: Sarsi Emmanuelle, that's who.
In any case, Sarsi is a discovery of the late star builder, Rey de la Cruz. She was studying at St. Paul College in Makati when Rey enticed her to join showbiz. She is Maria Obregon Mitchell in real life.
Sarsi is one of the "softdrink" beauties discovered by Rey. Two others are the late Pepsi Paloma and Coca Nicolas.
Come to think of it, where is Coca now?
In any case, Sarsi, because she could act, became one of Rey's most important "finds." She did several relevant movies, directed by relevant directors. Two of these were "The Boatman," directed by Tikoy Aguiluz, and "Virgin Forest," directed by Peque Gallaga.
After her last movie, "Naked City," Sarsi thought she had enough of showbiz. "Feeling ko, pagod na pagod ako," she revealed.
By then, she also became pregnant with her eldest daughter, Fay Louise, who is now 13. Her other daughter, Christine Marie, is five years old.
Are the girls' father also in showbiz? we asked Pepsi.
"I don't think I should answer that question," she said.

Sarsi owes her showbiz comeback to Angge, the talent manager of several popular stars, including Bayani Agbayani and Smokey Manaloto.
Angge is also the talent coordinator of several shows produced by ABS CBN.
Angge found Sarsi in Cavite. She was working with a carnival group. The group brings different rides to places celebrating their fiestas.
"Hamak man ang aking naging hanapbuhay," said Sarsi, "enjoy ako. Malinis na pamamaraan ng pagkita iyon."

Sarsi is part of the acclaimed cast of the newest and biggest teleserye on ABS-CBN, "It Might Be You," starring the formidable love team of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
Said Sarsi: "Dito sa 'It Might Be You,' I play the adoptive mother of Cielo (Bea). Isa akong dating artista dito. Artistang 'di nagtagal ang ningning. Kay Bea, nakita ko ang katuparan ng aking frustration. Kaya, kung dati'y minamaltrato ko siya, sinimulan kong mahalin siya bilang anak.
"I've been out of showbusiness for more than 10 years. Mostly, my fears are only drawn from whether I can give the kind of performance people expect from the ABS-CBN teleseryes. I really hope I can. This project deserves it," she added.
Also in the cast of "It Might Be You," which has directors Gilbert Perez and Don Cuaresma at the helm, are Tirso Cruz III, Maritoni Fernandez, Jean Garcia and young stars John Prats and Baron Geisler. Maja Salvador is being introduced.
"It Might Be You" is the love story of two young teens growing up in the small town of Montegracia.

Have John Prats and Heart Evangelista called it quits? But were they ever "on"?
Someone whispered to us that Heart's attention is currently focused on someone who is not from showbiz.
