CHRISTINA GONZALES-ROMUALDEZ: REAL-LIFE LEADING LADY
Manila, September 30, 2003 (MALAYA) SHE has been a leading lady to some of the country's top action stars and dramatic actors but today, Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez is the real-life leading lady of former Leyte Rep. Alfred Romualdez and she couldn't be any happier.
Five years after her fairytale wedding to Alfred in Tacloban, Cristina is the proud mother of two beautiful girls-Sofia, four years old, and Diana, four months.
"I am very happy with my life now as a wife, mother and businesswoman. Having my own family is something I've always dreamed of," says Cristina, who remains as beautiful and shapely as she was when she was still active in showbusiness.
Cristina says she doesn't really miss being in the movies because she's having such a great time being a wife and mother but she's not closing her doors to anything.
"My children are at an age where a mother's constant presence and guidance is required so I don't really have much time to do movies or appear on TV," she adds.
Alfred and Cristina both make sure that at least one of them is with the children during breakfast and lunch and that both of them are at home during dinner. Weekends are the times when they get away from the city life as the family loves the beach. Last year, they spent almost the entire summer in Boracay.
These days, Cristina is also very active in running Patio Victoria at 5435 Gen. Luna corner Victoria Sts., Intramuros, a beautiful venue for garden and indoor weddings.
Actually, Patio Victoria is more than just a venue. Part of the place's service is doing the catering and taking care of details like the flowers and wedding cake.
Patio Victoria is a one-stop shop for brides, who want a beautiful yet fuss-free wedding. Cristina's well-trained staff will arrange everything from the flowers and décor to the seating to the food to the giveaways to the cake and even the music.
"I was also a bride and I know how comforting it is to have someone trustworthy help you out with your wedding," says Cristina.
Patio Victoria is the perfect place for a wedding. A huge antique wooden gate, cobblestone walkways, airy gazebos and an old-fashioned fountain make it a romantic setting with a distinctive Old World charm.
Patio Victoria has two gardens-named after Cristina's daughters Sofia and Diana-and an airconditioned banquet hall. All three venues can accommodate as many as 1,000 guests. Both gardens have gazebos to protect guests against the sun and light showers. In case of heavy rains, the reception can move to the airconditioned banquet hall. During brownouts, Patio Victoria also has a generator to restore full power in less than a minute. There is also exclusive ample free parking for guests of the wedding party.
Aside from these, Patio Victoria is known for its excellent cuisine, which offers a wide selection of international dishes including their specialties like callos, lengua, paella, and lasagna. Cristina reveals that she even dug up some of the Gonzalez family recipes for this purpose.
Cristina naturally encourages people to visit her place or call 527-8006, 526-1953 or go to firstname.lastname@example.org
