MAUI AND JORDAN ROUGH UP EACH OTHER IN 'BUGBOG SARADO'
Manila, September 17, 2003 (MALAYA) by ETHEL RAMOS - DO you know that Jennifer Sevilla has been in showbiz for 22 years?
She was seven, she said, when she did her first movie, "Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang," for Regal Entertainment.
For a time, Jennifer was a member of "That's Entertainment," then considered the "discovery" show of GMA-7. Smokey Manaloto, now a most promising comedian, was her batchmate. He even courted her. Jennifer, however, turned him down.
Now, Jennifer and Smokey are being managed by the same talent manager whom they both fondly call Tita Nagge. Jennifer and Smokey treat each other like brother and sister.
A holder of a degree in Communication Arts from UST, Jennifer originally dreamed of becoming a newscaster. In fact, she trained to be one in ABS-CBN.
"Pero, nang magkaroon ako ng pelikula, napabayaan ko ito," she disclosed.
Today, Jennifer is into designing clothes. Her dream is to one day have her own fashion house.
In "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana," featuring Sharon Cuneta and Aga Muhlach together for the first time, Jennifer is a member of the barkada who is not only happy-go-lucky, but she also does not have the least ambition in life.
"Doing this film is a dream come true for me," says Jennifer, "I have several scenes with both Sharon and Aga, who happen to be two of my favorite actors."
Also in the cast of "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana," which will premiere at the SM Megamall on Sept. 23 (opening day is Sept. 24), are Cristine Bersola, Dominic Ochoa, Shintaro Valdez, Mickey Ferriols, Gabe Mercado and Patrick Guzman.

Maui Taylor considers "Bugbog Sarado," her latest movie with Viva Films, as her most physically challenging role ever. It is not that she doesn't like the challenge, she says, she just wants to stress that she had a hard time playing the role of a woman who is forever fighting with her husband.
"In one scene, I got bruises and cuts sa knees when I accidentally fell on broken glass," she relates.
"In another scene, akala ko nabalian ako when Jordan (Herrera, who plays her husband) manhandled me.
"Kung sabagay, 'di ko siya masisisi. Ang instruction sa amin ni Direk Joel (Lamangan) ay magwala kami pareho sa mga eksenang nag-a-away kami. Para raw maging realistic ang mga eksena namin."
There are also scenes where Maui gets to hurt Jordan. "Ginagamit ko talaga ang mahahaba kong kuko para kalmutin siya at lahat ng puwersa para masaktan siya," Maui says.
"Bugbog Sarado" is the first film together of Maui and Jordan after the tiff that arose during the shooting of "Gamitan," the former's launching movie that first paired them.
"Bugbog Sarado" also stars Victor Neri, Andrea del Rosario, Marky Lopez and Carlo Maceda.
