2 PINAYS SUSPECTED WITH SARS IN ITALY

Manila, April 5, 2003 -- The following is a report of AGI, an Italian news
website, posted today.

Florence -- From last night two women of Philippine origin have been in
isolation in the Infectious Diseases ward of Careggi Hospital in Florence,
looked after by Professor Francesco Leoncini, for breathing difficulties.

The two patients came back to Italy about a month ago via Hong Kong and
reported the first symptoms of breathing difficulty fifteen days ago.

In applying the security regulations in place in the Florentine area,
Professor Leoncini has decided to keep them in hospital for a period of
recovery and observation to exclude whatever possibility of killer
pneumonia. (AGI)
