EULA STILL IN LOVE WITH RONNIE QUIZON

Quezon City, March 1, 2003 -- Eula Valdez, one of the few actresses being referred to as a "Soap Queen" is separated from Ronnie Quizon, the elder brother of Eric Quizon. Eula lived with Ronnie for nine years. She still loves the guy and hopes they will reunite, not just for the sake of their son (eight-year-old Miguel) but also because they still love each other.

They both wanted space and time alone from each other. That's why they decided to part ways. "Ewan, basta isang araw, we both found ourselves dis-agreeing on anything and everything," Eula related.

The most hurtful part about it all was when she had to talk to her son and explain to him why his mom and dad could no longer live together. Miguel kept asking her "why?" She had to patiently explain to him that it was the best that she and Ronnie can do so they can still remain friends.

The disagreement between them had been going on for some time. She said: "Ronnie is as close as he can be sa aming anak. I had fears that if we separated and I asked our son kung kanino siya sasama, alam kong pipiliin niya si Ronnie."

But the boy, thank God, is with her. She is glad that her mom is helping her take care of Miguel. She has given Ronnie unlimited visitation rights to boy and Ronnie can take his son out if he wants to. She cannot deny that Ronnie has been and is a good father to their son.

How did Dolphy (yes, the top comedian and Ronnie's dad) react to the separation?

"I told Daddy (Dolphy's children's term of endearment for him) all. And I thanked him that he understood," she said.

Is she seeing anyone right now?

"Even if I want to," Eula answered, "I cannot. I've just started a new soap, 'Darating ang Umaga.' Besides, as I've said earlier, I still love Ronnie. It would take a while siguro or, never na makakakuha ako ng lalaking mamahalin ng tulad ng naramdaman ko kay Ronnie." (Ethelwolda Ramos, Malaya)
