TESSIE TOMAS RETURNS TO TV
Manila, Jan. 31, 2003 - Back in showbiz, so to speak, is Tessie Tomas, the original - still is - Queen of Morning TV Talk Shows. Would you believe that she was out of the TV scene for six months?
But her six-month sabbatical did Tessie a lot of good. She is not only looking much rested and younger, but she also is exuding more vigor and raring to go back to TV hosting - and how!
Starting on Monday, Feb. 3, Tessie will be hosting "Teysi" on ABS-CBN.
"Teysi" will be, in a way, like "Teysi ng Tahanan" but with much difference.
Said Tessie: "'Teysi ng Tahanan,' if you recall, ushered in a new era of information for audiences of all ages and social classes. The program didn't merely focus on housewives. We relayed information to a wider range of audience. We tackled issues which were relevant to working women, students, parents, grandparents and their family and friends."
With the new and improved "Teysi," Tessie addresses the concerns of the typical Filipina with honor and wisdom. She will not also confine herself to the four walls of the ABS-CBN studio. "Makikita ako sa Divisoria, Quiapo, Nepa Q, Cubao, Sampaloc. Wherever. Puwede rin sa campuses of any school in Metro Manila or in the provinces. Magiging malawak ang coverage ng program. We want to cover not only more subjects but more places so we can reach more audiences we can inform, educate and entertain," Tessie disclosed. (Ethelwolda Ramos, Malaya)
