LEA SALONGA TO APPEAR ON "ER"

Quezon City, Nov. 11, 2001 - Mrs. Ligaya Salonga, mother of award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga, has told Filipino entertainment writers that Lea will be a featured guest in the next season of the top-rating show “ER.”

Lea auditioned for “ER” after her agent, who is based in New York, advised her to look up the casting director of the show as soon as she sets foot in Los Angeles. It turns out that the casting director has sent word that they are interested to cast Lea in its future episodes.

And last Thursday, the agent calls up Lea, to tell her that she was accepted in the show and in fact will be taping her episode for one whole day first, tomorrow, Monday, her only day off from Flower Drum Song, the musical that she’s headlining.

Needless to say, Lea is very happy to hear the good news.

Remember Lea first appeared on the long-running soap opera “As The World Turns” before she went to LA for “Flower Drum Song.”
