TV KIDS CHANNEL 'NICKELODEON' IN SUBIC BAY THIS SUMMER
Manila, April 30, 2001 - (STAR) Nickelodeon, the world’s leading TV channel for kids, is bringing its unique style of fun to Subic Bay, Philippines. Commotion by the Ocean will be a double dose of fun with a treasure hunt competition and a beach party filled with fun and games for kids on May 20 at the White Rock Beach Resort in Subic Bay.
"Nickelodeon is all about fun and putting kids first. Commotion by the Ocean was created to give kids a unique Nick-style experience. We are happy that we can bring this event to the kids in the Philippines," says Christine Leo-McKerrow, vice president of channel operations and brand management for Nickelodeon Asia.
Kids aged 5-12 years old have the chance to participate in the treasure hunt at Subic, by tuning in to Nickelodeon and mailing in a drawing of their favorite fish and telling Nick why they like it. Four lucky viewers will be selected and asked to invite two friends each, plus one chaperone, to form a team for the treasure hunt. Teams will search all over the Subic Bay area looking for clues that will lead them to Nick treasures! Nickelodeon will provide an all-expense paid trip, including airfare to Manila, land transfers, hotel accommodations and meals for three days and two nights, plus Nick goodies and other treats for the winners and their team.
All entries should include name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, age and date of birth and must be received on or before May 5. Entries should be addressed to: Nickelodeon’s Commotion by the Ocean, PO Box 12500, Ortigas Center Post Office, Pasig, Metro Manila.
While the four teams hunt for treasures, the beach at White Rock Resort will be open to kids to attend the Commotion by the Ocean beach party. The party will feature Nick-style games and activities such as, face painting, balloon sculpting, live music and a special guest appearance by – SpongeBob SquarePants, that happy-go-lucky sea sponge from the undersea city of Bikini Bottom.
Nickelodeon also has an extra treat for Commotion goers with a special guest performance by the popular band A*Teens, straight from Sweden.
Complimentary tickets for this event are also available by e-mailing to Nickelodeon at commotion@nick philippines.com or by listening to 939 DWKC FM for a chance to win free passes or cool Nickelodeon prizes. Tickets are good for one adult and one kid.
