PAL OFFERS 50% OFF ON RESUMED COTABATO FLIGHTS

Cotabato City, July 17, 2000 - Philippine Airlines has resumed normal operations in Cotabato since July 15, earlier than the July 20 resumption earlier announced.

To mark the return of the service, the airline is offering a 50 percent discount on fares for one whole week.

The promotional fares are applicable for travel from July 15 to 22. PAL will again service the route five-times-weekly with its 148-seater Boeing 737-300.

The reduced rates on both round trip and one way tickets between Manila and Cotabato are PAL's way of making up for its absence in the province since May 4, when the MILF bombing of the military camp beside the airport compromised the security of the flights.

Flight PR 187 leaves Manila at 9:50 AM and arrives Cotabato at 11:25 AM. The return flight, PR 188, leaves Cotabato at 12:25 PM and arrives in Manila at 1:55 PM. There are no flights on Wednesday and Monday.
