QC SEEKS SPONSORS FOR ZOO PROJECT
Quezon City, July 14, 2000 By the end of this month. the first 13 habitats for rescued endangered and exotic Philippine animal species at the mini zoo of the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, formerly Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, will be ready.
The Natural Resources Development Corporation (NRDC) and D.M. Consunji, Inc. are the project development concept manager and construction manager, respectively, of Lungsod Kalikasan, a seven-hectare nature and wildlife conservation center currently under construction at the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Quezon City.
Fund raising for the construction and development of Lungsod is being undertaken by the Parks and Wildlife Development Foundation.
The fund-raiser was launched early this year, bringing in P11 million in pledges and actual donations to date, and enabling the project developers to finish the construction of phases 1 and 2 of the foundations of the habitats. The project needs P39 million more to be completed.
"This is a very timely project which ought to be supported by the business community," says Parks and Wildlife Development Foundation president Henry H. Brimo.
Sponsors will have their logos displayed prominently all over the park, in front of their sponsored habitats, in flags at the park entrance, in park collaterals and other promotional materials for the project.
