SORSOGON DEVELOPS BULUSAN NATIONAL PARK
Sorsogon, Sorsogon, June 2, 2000 Governor Raul Lee is 100% behind the development of the Bulusan Volcano National Park as proposed by the Provincial Tourism Council.
Lee said the province is banking heavily on the tourism industgry because of its potential for sustainable livelihood to thousands of Sorsogon residents.
The focus of the tourism development program is on rehabilitation and expansion of the Bulusan Mountain Lake Resort and pilgrimage site, the project’s centerpiece.
The lake is actually the crater of the Bulusan Volcano, and iss 1558 feet above sea level.
Mount Bulusan is one of 16 dormant volcanoes linked to a chain of four active volcanoes, including Mt. Mayon in nearby Albay province.
Another tourist attraction in Sorsogon is Whale Shark Watching, in the seas off Donsol town.
