NORA AUNOR ON BIRTHDAY CONCERT TOUR OF U.S.

Quezon City, May 21, 2000 - Faithful Noranians all over the country and the rest of the world greet their idol a blessed and happy birthday today, Sunday, May 21. Nora Aunor turns 47 today, reaching heights unmatched by any other actress.

Guy can't celebrate her birthday with her friends and fans in the Philippines like she did last year, for she's currently on a concert tour of the US.

She’s not coming home after her tour of several U.S. cities. Instead, she'll proceed to Europe for another series of shows.

Lito of Ganap (a national organization of Noranians) reports that in Houston, Texas, Guy's concert was SRO and she had to be almost bodily lifted to her van because of the overwhelming enthusiasm of her fans.

The diminutive Superstar's acting awards are topped by two international best actress trophies (Egypt and Malaysia filmfests) for "Flor Contemplacion" and "Bakit May Kahapon Pa?"

She also received the centennial award from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the only movie actress to be so honored.

Guy also merited the coveted TOWNS award, given to outstanding women in all fields of endeavor. The only other actress to win the award was Boots Anson Roa.
