‘GIGIL’ FINALLY GETS MTRCB OKAY

Quezon City, May 1, 2000 - Seiko Films' Gigil,’ which was originally disapproved by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), has been given the go-signal by the Appeals Committee. The MTRCB had found the movie’s dialogue "obscene" and having "double meaning."

Newcomer Brigitte de Joya, who is being introduced in the film, was relieved enough to crack jokes about it.

"Maybe they found my boobs much too big. But," she added half-seriously, "I suppose moviegoers can learn a lesson or two from the movie, bold though it may be."

The outspoken Brigitte has been upstaging co-star Nini Jacinto in the movie's promos.

Gigil leading man Leonardo Litton said he enjoyed his love scenes with both sexpots.

FLT Films' Senswal, starring Piel Morena, has also been approved by the Appeals Committee after it was "X-ed" by the MTRCB.

The two movies are classified "For Adults Only."
