SHARON PREGNANCY CONFIRMED BY DOC

Manila, April 28, 2000 - A front page story by the Manila Standard announced today that Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan is pregnant.

According to the report, the Megastar’s condition was confirmed last Tuesday by her obstetrician. The news was relayed via email by Sharon to Baby Gil, vice president for corporate media of Viva Films.

Sharon, who has a teenage daughter by her first husband Gabby Concepcion, has had two miscarriages since her marriage to Francis Pangilinan.

Because of those past traumatic miscarriages, Sharon will be ultra-careful with her diet, professional schedules and other stressful activities.

Sharon shares her sentiments with her fans in the following message published by the Manila Standard:

"We do need your prayers now more than ever. I wish I could rejoice right now, as God knows it’s what I really would like to do. But I guess I’m scared that it may turn out again to be a hurtful, disappointing experience (God forbid). But I have put my trust in the good Lord, and am taking extra precautions nowadays to insure the baby’s safe and normal development in my tummy.

"So all we really need are your deep and constant and loving prayers from this day on. Please join us in praying daily for the precious little angel.

"I feel pain around my hips. I am always nauseated. I am always sleepy and though I am not eating too much, I have been having these weird cravings.

"Kiko calls me the ‘smeller’ because I’m always waking up in the middle of the night ‘smelling’ him -- his hair, his arms, his tummy -- hoping not to be noticed."

Barring any unforeseen developments, Sharon and Kiko’s baby is expected to be delivered between Christmas 2000 and New Year 2001.
