BACKROOM ARTISTS’ NATIONWIDE SUMMER SKED

Quezon City, April 25, 2000 Super-comedian and singer Ai Ai de las Alas leads artists of Backroom, Inc. in performances all over the Philippines this summer.

Ai Ai starts the ball rolling with ''Wildfire,'' an IBC TV 13 summer special at the Picnic Groove in Tagaytay with MTV VJ KC Montero as co-host.

Ai Ai stars in a benefit show in Imus, Cavite with Idolzone and the Big Thing Band on April 28. Her next stop is another benefit show for the San Roque Parish Church in Dinalupihan, Bataan on May 12, with Ara Mina, Gladys and The Boxers. On May 26, Ai Ai topbills another concert entitled "FUNtastic Rhythms" at the Don Bosco Gym in Canlubang, Laguna with The Company and Dessa.

Ariel Rivera busies himself with corporate functions. He still maintains "ASAP" every Sunday on ABS-CBN 2 plus a TV drama, "Saan Ka Man Naroroon." Ariel is also a special guest of Anna Fegi in a concert at the Alegria Lounge of Casino FilipinoHoliday Inn on April 27.

Calvin Millado’s booking calendar is filled with corporate shows that requires him to do not only emceeing but singing as well. He hosts the "Mutya ng Pilipinas 2000" competition at the AFP Theater on May 13. On May 14, he goes to Canyon Woods in Tagaytay for a show. Calvin also goes on a nationwide tour as part of the "Philip Morris Concert Tour" with Lani Misalucha, Bituin Escalante, and Ima Castro.

Dessa visits Manaoag on May 10 for a special concert. She is also seen in "FUNtastic Rhythms" at the Don Bosco Gym in Canlubang Laguna with The CompanY and Ai Ai de las Alas on May 26. She is also scheduled to record an album under Premium label, a sister company of Star Records.

Ara Mina is off to Las Vegas for a concert with Martin Nievera and Bert Nievera. On June 2, she will be in Angeles, Pampanga as featured artist in a Pagcor show.

MTV VJ Shannen Torres maintains a regular show "MTV Diyes" on Channel 23. Shannen is set to co-host with Lou Bonnevie in the first Philippine Tourism Authority Musicfest in Mindanao entitled, "Kantahan, Dagyangan sa Butuan," on May 19.
