OGIE ALACASID’S ‘NOW & THEN’ HITS GOLD
Quezon City, April 19, 2000 - Ogie Alcasid received a Gold Record Award for the outstanding sales of his latest album 'Now & Then' under MCA-Universal.
Says Ogie of the very encouraging performance of his album: "I am very pleased with the results of the new album and I have to thank the public for supporting me in my latest endeavor.'
The album contains Ogie’s powerful hit ballad 'Kung Mawawala Ka,' the first single to be released from the album and which managed to top various surveys and record charts all over the country. Ogie is now busy promoting the album’s second single entitled 'Never Been To Me.'
The Gold Record Award was given to Ogie last April 9 in the top-rating musical variety show 'S.O.P.'
Present during the awarding was Chito Ilagan, Ogie’s 'Now & Then' co-producer.
Meanwhile, as an added treat, MCAUniversal has repackaged the CD of Ogie’s 'Now & Then.' A limited edition of the CD will contain a bonus VCD which contains the music video of 'Kung Mawawala Ka,' plus live footage taken from Ogie’s album launch held at the Hard Rock Café in Makati. The footage includes live performances of 'Simply Jesse,' 'If/Aubrey,' 'Bongga Ka Day' and 'Kung Mawawala Ka.' Incidentally, the music video of 'Kung Mawawala Ka' has made Ogie a nominee in the Best Male Category of the MTV Philippine Video Music Awards (PVMA) 2000, another achievement in Ogie’s career.
