CABLE SHOW 2000 BEGINS TOMORROW IN CEBU
Cebu City, April 4, 2000 - Star TV shines anew at the country's biggest cable television convention, dubbed 'Cable Show 2000,' at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) from April 5 to 7.
The cable giant will host a presentation on April 5, of the latest in programming for its exclusive channels including Star Movies, Viva Cinema (the first and only 24-hour Filipino movie and entertainment channel) Star World, Channel [V] International, Fox News and Star Mandarin, among others.
The presentation will be capped by a Grand Star Movies Night dubbed “StarFiles” at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel’s exclusive H2O discotheque featuring juke-box queen, singer/actress Jessa Zaragoza, comedian Jon Santos, and hosts Paolo Bediones alongside Channel [V] veejay Joey Mead.
Star Movies offers superlative programming, thanks to exclusive agreements with 20th Century Fox, Miramax, Disney, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, Walt Disney Productions and MGM/United Artists. On the other hand, Star World features the most in-demand TV series from the US, UK and Australia including all of the Top-6 rated shows on AC Nielsen’s Competitive Media Reporting (such as “Friends,” “Dharma & Greg,” “Ally McBEal,” “Frasier,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and “Becker”). All these and other channels will be featured as Star TV is once again a major exhibitor at the latest Cable Show.
With the explosion of Cable TV throughout the country as a major media for communications and entertainment, the yearly “Cable Show” is a much-awaited event that presents recent developments and emerging trends in the industry.
There will also be exhibits of new and innovative programming, cable products, as well as related technology and equipment. This year’s theme for the annual event is “Gearing Up for Convergence.” And it is once again being organized by the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA), the mecca for cable operators across the country.
